Guest guest
Dr. Chiu and Group, My enzymes are continuing to go up even though I stopped the mino as you suggested, Dr Chiu. Am extremely worried as my AST & ALT went from 34 & 50 on 11/4/05 when starting mino. On 12/21 they were 382 / 397 !! Stopped mino, Etodolac & all supplements right then, & cut way back on Ultram. By 12/28 they were 494 & 638!! I am scared I'm heading for liver failure. Has anyone ever experienced this? Should I take something to help my liver like Milk Thistle or stay off everything? Desperately upset here, so any help will be so appreciated. Rheumy doesn't have a clue, is sending me to a gastroenterologist immediately... Thank you for your help. Guest guest
Cathleen, Did your doc check for other causes of hepatitis ? ( viral ) Have you stopped all drugs ?? Including alcohol? In my experience the enzymes can rise for a while before they come down again. Those results were only a week apart, and the drugs are likely to be still in your system. I would also suggest getting them checked again after another week (they might be on the way down again), and check your clotting times. Hope you get to see the gastro doc soon.
