Guest guest
We are giving some fish oil along with cold pressed virgin olive oil. I don't think it has affected her seizures directly but it along with other fats has kept her in ketosis just fine. Labs done last November showed that her nutritional intake was good. An excellent source is flax oil but our daughter is not able to tolerate it. Rhonda I know people probabely get so tired of revisiting this issue - BUT could someone tell me the " main " Omega 3 that most people are giving there children with seizures?? Has it helped???? Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest guest
I don't specifically look for omega 3. I do try to use fresh, high quality food; fish or chicken, complex carb vegetables, becel margarine, omega 3 eggs. And of course a good vitamin and mineral supplement. I tried using flax oil, but that caused increased seizures. Guest guest
Omega 3, 6 & 9 really need to be balanced..... you need all three. Flax is high in Omega 3 and is a good one for raising ketones if that is an issue.... and it is highest in Omega 3, with some 6 & 9, although you need less Omega 3 in the overall balance. Some kids do not tolerate flax oil well...... so start with a small amount and watch her. Buy a good brand that has been kept fridged.... check the pull date.... buy it as fresh as possible, always keep it in the fridge and NEVER heat it at all.....destroys the nutrients.
