Guest guest
Actually, you can freeze balloons with water. My daughter did it this past summer. She had a thing for water balloons this summer. Anyway, the balloons didn't burst. My other daughter says that the water compresses when it freezes. I would think that if you froze the balloons for only maybe an hour or two, you would get a better result than just putting them in the fridge. A completely frozen balloon would be uncomfortable. Guest guest
I believe someone said you can mix 50% alcohol and 50% water and this will get slushy but will not get hard. I have never tried it so cannot say for sure that it will work. Cherry ----- Original Message ----- And, you'd need a chemical to keep it from > freezing. > Don't know the name of that one.) Guest guest
Here is another type of ice pack for those ACM headaches. 1.go to the store and buy a bulk pack of sponges-- the kind that are all sponge, no scratchy stuff on one side, 2.take them and cut them in half, so they are about 2 " by 4 " 3.get a bunch of ziplock type plastic storage bags (pint size or quart size). 4.soak the sponge so it is pretty engorged with water.(do not wring out the sponge) 5.put the wet sponge in a baggie and zip shut and put in your freezer. 6. when you need one, take the baggie (with the frozen sponge inside) and put it where you need it. These work great for the pressure headaches, because they are not hard or bumpy, and you can put a frozen sponge on your pillow (with a towel covering your pillow) and actually lay your head on it. If you want a softer frozen sponge, then wring it out a bit before you put it in the freezer, so it is not totally engorged with water (which can make it stiff) * these ice packs work wonderfully, esp with kids, as they dont make the mess that a bag of ice can make by leaking all over the place. another good aspect of these ice packs is that after a frozen sponge is used, throw the sponge thru the dishwasher to clean it, and soak it again and throw it in the freezer for the next use. have a better than average day, LeAna __________________________________________________
