Guest guest
Marsha found a wonderful looking pillow ...wow , I'm sending my daughter that link (G ) ! Comfort ...and ways to avoid provoking symptoms are high on my desires list ....and gradually you accomidate yourself more and more ...( or is this cranky ol age hitting ? ) gift ideas for acm that I've made or recieved and liked include The pillow on the symptoms alleviation page with the slit up the middle of a big feather pillow ...I still have mine I made following the dirrections ....its a gift from heaven while the zipper is fresh and fragile feeling . ....it continues to be a favorite musles spasm /relaxing pillow with a bag of frozen veggies thrown in ( G) > . another easy acm gift to sew takes a quick trip to the local thrift shop for gently used silk ties for the fellows ..scarves or ties for the gals . Buy wide one with patterns you like ( you'll need two wide ones , or three /four narrow ones . ) At home open the seams with a seam ripper ..wash and iron the fabric . Take the zipperheads soft collar , and pin together the ties ( fabric inside out) over the collar to cover it with a bit of extra room ( !/3 inch per side or so ) . slip the collar out ..sew ( leave a pocket open at each end of the collar where the velcro is , so that it can be fastened still ,( then later the ends of the ties wrap over to cover these pockets) ..and turn the tube of fabric right side out ..stuff the collar back in ...and the zipperhead has stylish comfort ! It's machine washable from then out . And last of all my favorite ...go to your upscale thriftstore or consignment clothes store ....and use your sense of touch to quickly scan for cashmere . Silk , linnen , and egyptian cotton , alpacha , ect all pop out at me as comfort fabrics . When my neuropathic haywire right side fritzs out ...these soft fabrics help reduce the amount of tortured sensation lots . has taken me to town shoping several times this last couple weeks ... and we both have had great fun ...but found little that we actually wanted . Yesterday she took me to a local clothes consignment store ...and I delightedly found the perfect black cashmere sweather for $7.00 . I found a lovely old cashmere coat last week in our salvation army store for $5.00 , and an angora sweater for little as well . It may sound odd .....but gently used cashmere coats are soo soft ...instead of soo scratchy /sandpaper torture provoking ...I'd much rather be touched by cashmere , silk or velvet ! So this year ...we are buying most gifts used ...a few on ebay where we've found some inexpensive collectables /antiques for friends with special intrests too ...our first year actually using ebay - lol . Happy Hollidays to all getting ready , in Paradise
