Hello everyone and Happy Newyear to all!!well I just got over the worst sinus

infection I have ever had and if that wasn't bad enough the chiari headaches

came right along with it.I started not feeling good last thursday and by friday

morning my nose and head was so congested that I could barely breathe, couldn't

smell anything and the pressure in my head was so over whelming I couldn't take

it.I was in Tennesee for the holidays and I could not get a prescpiption filled

because I didn't have any refills left.Normally when I feel this coming on I

just take biaxin and it clears up in about 4 days but because I couldn't get a

hold of any it was getting really bad really fast.My throat was so sore that I

couldn't swallow anything that wasn't liquid and by Saturday I was choking on my

own saliva.I have always had sinus problems but this was by far the worst

ever.we drove home on saturday morning(a 9 hour drive)and the whole way home my

head was hurting so bad that I cried most of the way, when I got home saturday

night I called the doctor and precribed nasal spray, antibiotic and vicoden which

was for the pain in my head, the nasal spray just ran right out of my nose

because it was so stuffed up it couldn't break through and the vicoden did

nothing for the pain.I did not sleep at all for 2 days because of the pain in my

head was so unbearable.I have gone through 3 boxes of kleenex since saturday and

I know the pain is caused from all the pressure in head and from all the

straining of blowing my nose, but what choice did I have?I had to get rid of the

congestion before the pain would go away. Now the back of my neck is throbbing

and the back of my head is soo sore,do you think this did more damage?do you

think this could increase the herniation of the tonsils?sorry this is so long

but my pcp doesn't seem to know anything about chiari and I'm sure you guys know

more than he does. Thanks for listening,I'd appreciate any feedback!!!shelly
