Guest guest
Where do you get CYTTOMEL...i really can't aford a doctor. I am already sick with mercury and can not afford to try and see a medical doector who has NO CLUE as to what's gong on so I do a lot of things by myself. So if I up the thyroid by 1/4 grains, I should be able to find where I need to be at? How many days should a give in between upping the doses? I already get tachycardia from the mercury. Is the kind you are referring to pretty darn minor then? ~inga on 11/1/04 10:08 PM, loboshe at usns@... wrote: Hi Joan! Joan, most folks do great on Armour alone. If someone isn't yet doing great, it's because they haven't upped enough. I've seen many folks here think they need to add Cytomel or Synthroid, when all they needed was to increase their Armour. Increasing Armour IS increasing T3, and T4. On the other hand, there are folks like who need to add T3 to their Armour, because they have a resistance to T3, or they have poor conversion of T4, to T3. You find out that you are the latter when you have gotten up to high amounts, like 5 and more, and your free T3 is STILL low. It's also quite important for these folks to multi-dose throughout the day. When we talk about labs, there IS a good one--the free T3. Your goal on Armour is to get that free T3 at the top of the range, if not over, if you go by labs. And even with labs, you ALSO dose by symptoms. When I got up to 2 1/4 grains, and used labs all along the way, I had a free T3 towards the top, and I felt like my " bad " symptoms were mostly gone. But...I had heard that the minimum optimal dose before the TSH was 3 grains and higher. So...I experimented, and went up 1/4 grain at a time, WITHOUT using labs. When I got up to 3 1/4 grains, I did them out of curiousity. I was over the range, and feeling great. I have pushed the limit. If I add another 1/4 grain, I think I notice palps. So I know I am currently at my optimal dose. There are some folks who have added Cytomel to their Armour because they found it was cheaper to buy Cytomel than buy more Armour without a prescription. But one gal in particular was at 4 grains before she added Cytomel for the above reason. Hope that helps. Janie > >>>YES, lots of T3. Guest guest
Hi Inga. If you have a tendency to get tachycardia's, you don't need to be thinking about being on Cytomel (T3) anyway. They might aggravate your tachycardia. And it sure seems to be wise that you find a doc---where are you from? Maybe someone here knows a good one near you that could help out with fees??? If you want to find out, put your city and state in the SUBJECT LINE, asking for a good doc. If you continue to self-dose, yes, I can say that if it was me, I'd go up 1/4 grain at a time, and let the 1/4 grain rise stay with me a few weeks but no more. I notice palps myself because I have MVP, but they occurred only when I made each increase, and the subsided within the first week of each increase. Yes, they were minor. (I hope you can find a doc to assist you....., if necessary.) Janie > Where do you get CYTTOMEL...i really can't aford a doctor. I could say I stutter AND really, really, really meant it. But alas, my Alz must be showing. har. I would guess that the increase isn't showing yet because you were replacing the T4 you used to be on. Yeah, maybe give it another week or so to see....or go ahead and go up to 3 1/2 grains, but hold that for at least 4-5 weeks? Guest guest
I have to try and see my DR soon, so I don't want it too high I will wait a week or 4.
