Guest guest
We got to SCD after being in GFCF for for 6 months, GFCFSFCF for three more months. My son was bloated as ever, had gained a lot of weight in GFCF, but most importantly was anxious, constantly eating and having flattened BMs (constipation)... We started SCD as a possible cure for constipation, and he soon reacted with a flattened stomach, weight loss (he is down to 78. lb from 85 lb. 3 months ago!) His stools are looking better and better since we started probiotics and enzymes, but his behavior still has a lot of room for improvement. I was GF for about 5 years prior to SCD. I was very healthy until my 2nd pregnancy. During that time, I became sensative to more and more foods. While avoiding dairy during nursing an allergic baby, it became more evident what the problem was. I kept trying dairy substitutes and got sick from the soy and rice products. I kept eliminating more and more things but couldn't find the source. I knew it was hidden glutens because, while I did have diarhea, I didn't have the severe cramping that always accompanied gluten ingestion. I didn't find out about SCD until my son was diagnosed with celiac at 14 months. I joined a mailing list for parents of celiacs kids and there were some SCD moms on it. Even then, it took me 6 months to get my son it, while I tried it as soon as I heard about it. and Liam celiac
