Guest guest
Thanks for the wishes, Chris. Yes, I know it is part my pCP, but it is also part kaiser. If I were approved today, I would still be looking at a long wait. What's going on now? I spoke with my boss at 7am about changing to our bcbs group insurance at work. She's submitting the paperwork. At 9:30 I called the surgical group that does the RNY at the hospital I work for. Five minutes later I had my consults set up, all except the surgeon. My appointments are next week. I've been advised I could have surgery as soon as Jan, but I already promised my boss I would wait until Feb, after the holidays and part of the busy season. I have a few pre op classes, and I have to lose twelve lbs. I AM PSYCHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Laurie
Guest guest
Thanks for your input Kym. Unfortunately it's not just my pcp telling me what I need to qualify. The dietician as well said I didn't have what Kaiser wanted. It was my intent to wait for referral, be denied, appeal, be denied, appeal to the DMHC, wait three months for orientation, lose 27lbs, get scheduled and then wait for surgery. But if there's a better option, why not take it? Kaiser isn't giving me what I want, so they're fired. I'm hiring someone else, and if they don't deliver, they're fired, too. And, actually, I've decided not to leave Kaiser, but to pick up an additional insurance and start the process there. In the meantime, Kaiser can keep spinning their wheels. We'll see who gets me to the finish line first. I know who I'm betting on! Laurie
Guest guest
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you! I'm walking on air, happy dancing, etc. I can't believe after all this time it could actually happen for me in FEB!!!! And I do feel well prepared. Heck, I've been on this list for 2yrs 3months. That alone should do it. LOLOL JK Laurie
