Guest guest
I know that my eating 'drive' lowers in summer. I don't seek out 'heavier' meals and feel less driven to cook etc. during summer too. Perhaps this lag would spark an increase as the weather turns cooler? I know I really get into warm and 'filling' type foods come winter. Here come the hearty soups and stews ;-) And of course next comes Halloween with all its mixed messages about treats and TRICKS (as in weight gotchas - lol). Life sure isn't a straight line, level path is it?!? So what are you enjoying more now? The watermelon in my kitchen will probably be the last of the season for us. The others have tasted fabulous but we haven't sliced this one open for days - its rather telling when I think about it now too. Good topic Ehugs, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > I have been very hungry the last couple weeks. Then I realized, the weather's felt very fallish lately. Guest guest
Great topic, Sara. I have a very negative attitude about fall and winter. It makes sense given my history. (I'll spare you with the details for now) - I'm trying really hard to focus on the positive aspects of the season. Last night it was also fallishly cool and I was lying in bed feeling very " cuddly " with my warm blanket - which is not a feeling I can appreciate on a hot summer night. How's that for positive??? I'm trying, really trying.... As for the food, yes, I also eat more when the seasons turn cold. I can remember from Geneen Roth's book her also mentioning that she usually gains up to 12 pounds during the fall/winter months. I havent read that book in ages - funny how I remember that part. Perhaps it's a biological thing. Our bodies " stocking up " for the winter sleep. Deb > > I have been very hungry the last couple weeks. Then I realized, the weather's felt very fallish lately. Guest guest
This is definitely me too... I tend to crave heartier foods in the fall and winter too. Whereas in the summer it's all about salads & fresh fruits... now it's hot cereals, soups, casseroles, etc... It's been HOT here this week, but today was a cool, crisp day.. I was craving some Red River so made my " Banana Bread Red River " cereal for dinner.. soooo good & filling and just what I was wanting! Yum! > > I have been very hungry the last couple weeks.
