Guest guest
I'm not supposed to eat bread, toast, brownies, cakes or muffins so that wouldn't work for me. It's because of the candida albicans, hypoglycemia & allergies problems I have. That's why I mentioned maybe it might work for salad dressing. Otherwise I haven't a clue how to use it except as a body massage. Might try that. Re: i'm jazzed ! oink oink i use the coconut oil to make really great, tasty french toast. i don't think salad dressing will be a good base for that product. it's VERY strong, coconut tasting. i'd use it in brownies and cakes and muffins and stuff instead. i think there are recipes on the coconut oil websites. best, baron
Guest guest
Yeah...energy & desire. Too different things. Even with both I'd still hurt myself too much doing a lot of housework. So I don't do hardly any anymore. Most just picking things & putting them away or organizing things when I damn well feel like it, if then. Guest guest
Caroline, What are you doing to rid yourself of candida? I have a friend that tried everything and couldn't shake it. Someone recommended that she try www.flora-balance. com products. She's now candida free. However, she voluntarily still restricts her diet to non wheat/gluten products and no sugar (barley malt, cactus sweetner and maple). Otherwise, she feels and looks great. FYI, Maxine Re: i'm jazzed ! oink oink I'm not supposed to eat bread, toast, brownies, cakes or muffins so that wouldn't work for me. Guest guest
I'm not really having any serious candida problems like I used to as I've detoxed a lot & used a lot of fresh juiced veggies years ago to " normalize " that as much as possible. I originall got it from taking Brewer's Yeast in my early child-bearing/raising years. Prolly from drinking beer before that too tho as well as taking antibiotics & getting it from that as well. I also consulted a candida savvy doctor back then. So don't have any IBS or other intestinal problems or the rash, itching, etc. anymore. But I know not to eat any foods with yeast, dairy, sugar, wheat gluten, processed foods, etc. in them except rarely. Kind of knocks out of the whole idea of eating anything & makes the table scene quite boring & depressing in fact. Especially when I'm at food-eating gatherings. I've used all kinds of Yeast Fighters, caprylic acid & other kinds of formulas for it in the past too. Got a series of colonics & even, at other times, did daily enemas with coffee or garlic & anal injections of probiotics, wheat grass juice & such when I was heavy into detoxing & getting it under control years ago. It worked at the time. I wouldn't do that anymore tho. Haven't the reason, purpose or will-to-live now that I did then. I just watch my diet carefully now & also take supplements or a good probiotic plus ingesting lots of fresh raw garlic & Kyolic capsules which are extremely helpful. If it gets out of hand because I've been taking antibiotics (mostly for dental reasons), then I use " Primal Defense " . It's the best probiotic & candida/IBS stabilizer & curer on the market that I've ever found. Pricey tho, but well worth it. I never tried flora-balance but have tried loads of others. The Primal Defense & garlic, etc. works best for me when I need it which is rarely anymore. A good detox & yeast/bacterial fighter & pro-biotic drink is Witch's Brew...a concoction invented by a friend of mine who's had candida, pituitary damage, diabetes, a heart attack & stroke. She takes loads of supplements & studies Auyvedic & Tibetan medicine & native/foreign herbology. She's also a Reiki healer & former massage therapist, retired/disabled now tho. Witch's Brew is hot water with lemon juice, chopped garlic & parsley in it. Does wonders for lung infections, pneumonia & other breathing problems & repiratory allergies as well as aiding & balancing the digestive system. I chop up ginger into it too. She's cured people of pneumonia in a few days in fact with that & other stuff she knows. I try to drink Witch's Brew twice a day if I remember to or at least once a day for preventive reasons. A good coral calcium product will knock it out completely too. That's very pricey too. Tho I've just found a cheaper one in the Swanson catalog. Swanson has a website too...extremely reasonable prices. The current coral calcium fomula I'm now taking is helping me a lot right now for a lot of things as it has all the B vitamins, folic acid, selenium & other things in it. But I'm dreading having all my upper teeth pulled this winter & getting dentures. Because they'll no doubt want to put me on antibiotics which always messes me up & necessitates my taking Primal Defense for a few months afterward, in addition to all of the above, to get stabilized again. Sighhhh............. RE: i'm jazzed ! oink oink Caroline, What are you doing to rid yourself of candida? I have a friend that tried everything and couldn't shake it. Guest guest
rofl. You girls aren't going to believe just how jazzed you can get once the dosages are correct and the desire to get busy on those things which we've not been able to focus on & do for so long. Housework was never my strong suit. I will be the first to admit it. I should have been born rich so that I could have maids flittering about me (lol) but since that is not the case.....I am doomed to housework forever, it seems. What amazed me was after a while, maybe 4-5 weeks after I started Armour this year, I came home after work, and my brother came over to do some yard work for me. I thought it was nice of him, at the time, but I'd not tackled anything inside or outside the house for at least 3 yrs on a grand scale. Most days I'd only done what had to be done, or did absolutely nothing. I felt too bad. That day I actually managed to take the weed eater from him, and trim around places that needed it as he mowed. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do it, but I figured what the heck. I must have weedeated for at least an hour or better, and for the first time in years, I honestly felt good after doing something, and didn't collapse. And I didn't pay for it the next day. The important thing with me seems to be that I get my rest nightly. Even if that means taking a couple of Excedrin PM which I keep on hand for those nights. I also managed to go to work daily, and then travel across town to my son and daughter in laws house here, that they were going to put up for sale after they relocated to Dallas, because of an employment move he had to make. I managed to paint and help pack up what they'd not taken with them the first trip. Since they were long distance, I had to help out wherever they needed me to, and that was the week I went from Armour to Levoxyl. heheh. In a weeks time, I got in a real pissy mood and everything became gloom and doom, if ya know what I mean. I was not a happy camper, so I tossed the Levoxyl and went right back to Armour. I felt better, but it took longer to feel better once I got back on Armour. Funny how in a weeks time so many things could change for me, but they did, and my #2 son noticed it. He didn't want to be around me, and I honestly couldn't blame him. I was mean, and had a real chitty outlook on life. I can now get up out of bed, get busy on housework which needs my immediate attention, and go grocery shopping as I did this morning, all with no pain. I may get a little tired, but it is 'nothing' like it used to be. I can remember times when just walking to the car was painful, or just dragging out of bed, left me breathless. I managed to take my son to eat breakfast this morning, hit the feed store for bird food for the tiels, and then go to Academy for his gun cleaning kit, and go to Sam's because we were out of bottled water. Of course, I spent a lot more as I did some shopping for things for my brother & mom while I was at Sam's, but I feel like a million bucks. I always take a break when I get home, for at least 30 minutes, just so I can relax, get something to drink, and then plan on what my next move will be. I promise you, without Armour, this wouldn't have ever been possible for me. That is the one thing I do know without a doubt. If I choose to clean house, I can actually do it now. I just have to be in the 'mood' ya know? I'm the same way with cooking. If the mood don't hit me, I don't do it, because it'll be a disaster. This is nothing new, I've been this way all my life, so for me to just suddenly be a perfectionist with housekeeping or cooking ain't ever gonna happen. It's not in my cards. LOL. But the nicest part is, that there is something out there that will help with all those pesky symptoms. I do get tired, but I'm 50 yrs old, and it's okay to sit and relax, but no more pains that are unexplainable from standing on my feet shopping, walking, or having to drag a buggy around to help hold me up by leaning on it. I can't explain any of this, other than I have listened, read, and when my labs and symptoms showed there was a problem, I finally took the plunge and took Armour, not worrying about what a dr said I should or shouldn't do, or tell me that I wasn't feeling what I was feeling & that the pains weren't from my thyroid problems. Now, I have to admit, if I'd not been made hypoT for that year or better, on suppression drugs for my thyroid, I might never have been this brassy. I saw what toll it took on me with constipation, a personality that NOBODY wanted to be around, not even me, and unable to walk through the house without feeling like I had to sit down, and sounding like I was asthmatic, and having to sleep every day that I could. Funny how carpal tunnel is the first thing I feel besides being tired when my thyroid is not working properly or being overmedicated, or undermedicated. It's a big step. It's a personal choice some of us come to that we have to decide for ourselves. We can't be bullied, pushed or prodded into it. Living or existing. I chose to live, not exist in apathy. I was so apathetic towards so much in my life, it's a miracle I bounced back from that. lol. I'd love for everybody to feel as good as I do right at this moment. But I know that may not be the way it works for everybody. If I hadn't taken that chance, and just sat and read, and saw how great so many of you were doing after self medicating, I'd not be where I am today. That didn't come overnight, either kiddo's. It took weeks of sifting through stuff. There's a lot of things that are discussed that I don't even pay attention to, because I can't overload the ole brain with too much. I put my thyroid at the top of the list. If something else causes a problem, like adrenals, or whatever, I'm not gonna stress over it, till it's staring me in the face. I have to do it that way or I'd be on overload and I'd not get anything done. It takes a lot of frustration from lack of medical care, courage and fortitude to decide this for ourselves. None of us wants to do it, but let's face it, some of us have to just bite the bullet and go with it. I will never be sorry for making that choice for myself. It was the right thing to do in my case. :-) I'll deal with all the other things as they rear their ugly heads, till then, I'm gonna enjoy how good I feel and I'll keep ordering Armour for as long as I need it. When my dr's start feeling what I was feeling and have to start paying for the housekeepers and my unemployment, along with my medical, then I'll consider listening to them, till then, it ain't happening. Not one of them knows my body better than me, and my body requires Armour. If I'd never taken it, I'd never have known. Sorry this was so long, but I never say anything without a lot of words! lol. :-) it's the next thing I'll try to work on. lol.
