Youngest Son on SCD Underweight

Had a pediatrician appt. today for a follow up to an ear infection

for my youngest. (Just a side note, I didn't give him the

antibiotics, but his ears were perfect today, the doc said. I didn't

tell him about not giving them).

Anyway, my son is 11 months old and is still nursing as well as

eating some. He weighs 18, almost 19 pounds and is 28 inches long.

He is just in the 10th percentile. This visit, he had gained weight,

but had dropped on the scale to 5th percentile. My doc said he needs

more calories, etc. He's not yet walking, so the doc was concerned

that he eat more calories like good fats, etc, because when he starts

walking he will slim up even more.

He is on SCD with us, but we haven't done the yogurt yet. I strongly

believe he is gluten sensitive just like us and would have these

issues, so I want to stay on it, but I need to up his calories. One

reason he may be so small is because of my limited diet as well.

When can I start giving him some of the nut cookies? Also, would it

be good to give him the yogurt too? He doesn't really tolerate eggs

well, so that's out, and he doesn't like avocado. I just want him to

grow well and everything. He doesn't like baby food pureed anymore,

he wants to eat with his hand something formed. His diet consists of

mainly meat, chicken, fruits and veggies. Please help me to help him

gain some weight. He seems very healthy, but just little, alhtough

his cheeks are really chubby! Should I add any starch to his diet,

like rice? I would really hesitate to do that, but I want him to get

enough, and it seems that nuts make him reactive in an allergenic

way, especially peanuts.

Any thoughts...

Tina SCD 3 months today! with 2 boys Abraham and Micah
