Hi Sue,

There's no rule that says you can't eat to combat nausea or the metallic taste. You're in a war against this disease after all! You do what you have to do.

Hope you're better soon.

Thanks, Norma. However, when I previously took this drug, the metallic lasted

almost until the time I took the next dose and the nausea was constant. I drank

ginger tea, rather than eating between meals, to control the nausea. Last night

I took the pills with hazelnut milk in the middle of my meal. That helped mask

the metallic taste.

Nevertheless, my attitude toward those side effects seems to have changed. Last

night, when I noticed the metallic taste, I just thought, " Yes, that's from

flagyl. That's the drug which will kill my c-diff bacteria and improve my gut

motility. That's the drug which will eventually eliminate my gut cramps, gas and

bloating. " Rather than feel sorry for myself for enduring those side effects of

nausea and strong metallic taste, I decided to focus on how the drug will help

me get well.

(clostridium difficile or 'c-diff') infection. I took flagyl to treat c-diff a

month ago, but the c-diff symptoms returned within a week. Some people need

several rounds of treatment to eliminate c-diff.
