Guest guest
First of all, I don't want to take a month off.....and secondly, I really don't want to tell all my co-workers what I'm doing..... I don't want to hear a bunch of stories and opinions. My partner and I discussed it and I've made my decision (as of today anyway) ...... I really don't know what to tell them at work. Has anyone dealt with this situation? Thanks, this site is a great help to me. You're all pretty terrific! Guest guest
Hi All..... Thanks so much for all your responses...Kay, I especially liked your idea of " having my plumbing fixed " .. I work in a rather small place, there are only about 12 people on staff and I am one of the senior or executive staff people. We're all rather close. I have confided in our secretary because I go to Curves with her, and I know she will keep my confidence. On another note, how are all you pre-ops going to handle Thanksgiving? I'm trying very hard to prepare South Beach type foods. That's my diet....I know I'm supposed to do the grid, I tried it...it makes me crazy. My first nutritionist told me that South Beach was great; she was in San Francisco... I know that the Richmond staff have their own ideas but I can only make so many changes in my life. For now, while I still can, I want to be able eat a big salad, not 1 cup of greens. Best, Maggie
Guest guest
Hi Maggie, I was only out for 2 weeks. My office is small (4 of us) and every one knows and is supportive. However, if you work at a larger place go to personel or your boss and tell them you need to have some medical time off. They MUST keep your discussion confidential. If you have plenty of sick time and vacation time use it -thats what it is there for.
