I don't know how any one can hold their head back, or hang upside down.

I can tilt my head back to look up, and totally lose all balance, my eyes

start swimming, and if I hold it like that very long, I get this

unbelievable headache. It's as tho I'm actually putting direct pressure on

my brain, and it definitely does not appreciate it.

Bending over does the same thing --- but not quite as extreme. When I stand

up, my head will swim for a long time. Sometimes I even fall because it's

like I lose all sense of direction.

Isn't it funny how this thing affects us all so differently.

I remember before my surgery, if I had to tilt my head back further than a

couple of degrees it always gave me the most intense headache (behind my

eyes as well).

I remember trying to clean the ceiling so it could be painted - almost

impossible to do without looking up - took me a good couple of weeks to get

rid of the headache after that.

Although I don't get the same degree of discomfort now, I'm still careful to

avoid tilting my head back too much. Aside from the fact that it will give

me a bit of a stiff neck for a few days, the bones in my neck remind me by

grinding uncomfortably. NO headache though thanks to the surgery.

When I mention to anyone that the bones in my neck grind in this fashion,

most people say " if you do neck strengthening exercises it would help " , but

to be honest, I'm a little afraid to disturb my neck too much by any

strenuous exercises.

I'm not a hyperactive sort of person by any means, so this hasn't affected

my life to any great degree. I guess if I was the sporty type it would be a

bit different. I didn't bungy jump before and I'm certainly not going to

now..... LOL
