Guest guest
Have you tried yogurt in a smoothie? Ice, fruit & water or juice and your small amount of yogurt in the blender??? Also.. has anyone tried making their own 'gogurt' using some of that new glad press n seal? Just a thought I had.. my kids love gogurt and I was going to try this as a way to get them to eat their yogurt.. for just starting out you could make a smaller envelope of it and fill it using a pastry bag.. or just a plastic bag with a hole in the corner.. The frozen yogurt is a good idea.. you could make a sorbet.. frozen fruit and put a little yogurt in it.. or what about yogurt popsicles? Any thoughts!! > > Hey All, > > > > Everyday we have an ongoing battle (and I mean knock down drag out) > > to get a tsp or 2 of yogurt in my son. Guest guest
Freezing the yogurt slows down and kills *some* of the good bacteria..... so it's not an ideal way to get the probiotics down to the gut. I'd be trying to sneak some yogurt into something else.... like pureed butternut squash with butter and cinnamon..... just mixing in a quarter of a teaspoon of yogurt. I defy any kid to know it's in there! Then you could increase VERY, VERY slowly over time. Just don't let them see you sneaking it in! And make sure the food you stir it into isn't too hot..... should be cooled down to about body temp-ish so you don't kill off the good guys that way. Patti Re: pls help ...get my kid to eat yogurt! Guest guest
Sounds like you are using nut yogurt. Does your son tolerate the nut flour from same nuts? What about nut milk? Have you tried the goat yogurt? you could try mixing it into other things (like smoothies) as some have suggested. You probably have tried dripping it, and pressing it to cream cheese consistency, but if not, you could try that. However I think if those don't work, I would give up, as least for awhile. I think something in his body is telling him not to eat that, for some reason. Plus as you said you are describing a pretty intense physical struggle. This can't be starting the day well for either of you. Stop awhile, give probiotics, enjoy your child, and maybe try again in a few months. I fyou think his gut needs more healing, consider a couple of days of intro, and a couple of weeks of very easy to digest foods to give his system a rest and a boost to healing. -- Sue, mom to Adam and
