hi everyone. my name is ann. i am married to the man of my dreams, and we have

2 beautiful younger children. we currently reside in KY, with our zoo...lol.

we have 3 cats, 3 puppies and 3 horses.

as to why i am here...i'll give you the short version...otherwise we could be

here all day...lol. when i met my husband, just about 10 years ago, i weighed

132#. i was happy, healthy, blah blah blah. ask my husband, tho, and he'd tell

you i was too thin. i'm 5'5, but have a thick bone structure. he said that i

was more like a bag of bones. well, then i had my daughter. i lost all my

weight, except 5 #, then had an issue that resulted in me being put on a

steroid. on that steroid, i gained 30#. then i had my son on the way. we

repeated this cycle, but i gained 40#. that was the beginning of my weight

struggle. i gained 20# more, give or take, thru the next 5 years.

in 2007, i started out at 190#, then my son had to be hospitalized from sept.

2007 until may 2008. during this time, i blew up to 230#. there was a

mcdonalds in the hospital, and i went from being really active to extremely

sedate. i was careful, eating salads with the grilled chicken, but it didn't

help much. i started doing yoga, while at the hospital, and it helped to

maintain the weight i gained, but that wasn't enough for me.

since we've been home, this past year, i have restarted my activities, and did

drop back to 190...however, as of late, i've been gaining again. i'm back to

right around 215.

i used to be a " gym bunny " , and very active horse person. i would ride many

hours a day. to be like this, now, scares me...and baffles me. i don't go to

the gym, anymore, but i am always moving. working with my horses for extended

periods of time. i eat portions that i feed my kids...i'm not full, but

satisfied. not hungry every few minutes. i try to eat balanced meals. i have

cut most soda from my diet...i have 1 can every once in a while. i drink mostly

iced tea and filtered water. i try, but let's face it...it's just not working!

of course, i have started adding butter to most everything i make, as i'm trying

to get weight back on my son, after his extended illness...which doesn't help,

either.

i need help learning better ways of taking care of myself, not just for me, but

also for my family.

so that's me. i look forward to meeting you all, and getting to know you all.

thanks for reading,

ann
