Welcome to you! How exciting for you to be expecting again. I have known

several Mom's who choose to continue nursing while being pregnant and they

have NO problems. I have heard of children choosing not to continue nursing

since the milk changes during pregnancy though. Sounds like Mohammed will

keep right on going! I also know Mom's who tandem nurse and it works well

for them. We support whatever works for you and your children here! I am

, Mommy to Jake (5yob) and Clay (21 mob). My dh is and we

are both 30 and like in So. Cal. Nice to have you here!

I've always been curious about " family beds " . Do you ever have any privacy?

(If you know what I mean <wink, wink>). My daughter sleeps with us for now,

but she's only 2 weeks old, so it really doesn't make a difference.

Welcome to the list. I am Wendi sahm to Kaija 7yo and Zaid 20 months. I

think trusting yourself is the most important piece to parenting.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, I hope it is going smoothly. Look

forward to hearing more from you.

New here and just wanted to tell you about my

family....

From: enemiga@...

My name is , DH and I live in Iowa. We are expecting #2 (a girl) Oct

8, 1999! I have a wonderful son who will be 2 at the end of September. I

still nurse my son, he has dropped down to about 2 feedings a day. (nap

time and bed time) We still share a " family bed " and we just moved to a

" king size " in preparation for Renna!! I have really enjoyed this

experience and hope to continue even when my daughter is born:0) Despite

cruddy advice from friends and family regarding weaning before the baby, I

feel as long as I follow my heart, I can do no wrong by them both. Actually

I am hoping this nursing experience will bond the two of them in a special

way. I just wanted to introduce myself and say it's great to be here!

Love

It's great to here that I'm not alone letting my new little girl SCOTTLYN

share our bed. This is my first child, but my hubbies second. He said before

she was born that she would sleep in her own room. . . I think he loves her

sleeping with us more than I do. They both like to sleep in late in the

morning. I've got some great pictures of them together. Some members of both

of our families give us that disapprove look when they find out where she

sleeps. But oh well my husband sails, It's our child not theirs! Another

reason he likes it is he doesn't have to get up in the middle of the night.

Thanks for lessening.

Hello....All of our kids have shared our bed. For the most part they were

ready to move to their own at around 2-2 1/2 years but still occasionally

join us if sick or scared. Dalton is 8 months and has never slept any where

else. This works great for us and I get more sleep than I would otherwise.

When you share a bed you get creative when you want privacy!!! It is very

possible to find it for us anyways and we have 4 kids!!

We had an unplanned family bed for quite a while and, no, there is no privacy

" in the bed at bedtime " but there are other rooms in the house ;-). Joan

We do the Family Bed with Philip. (almost 22 months) We don't have privacy in

our bed but as others have said we find it in other areas of the house. : )

You just need to be creative.

And from the LOOKS of it<Very VeryBG> we can TAKE HER WORD FOR IT......LOL!!

But in my house it works the same way, our guest bedroom works JUST

FINE.....LOL!! But then you have to worry about being interupted, but that is

where spontaneity comes in handy =)

Trina,

Many of us here have a family bed. I think for breastfeeding it is very

compatible, though formula fed baby's would benefit too. Studies have shown

that children who co sleep can be more secure later in life which is just the

opposite of what many think. The convenience just cannot be beat either! My

son is now in his own bed by his choice. He is quite the bed hog! The way

we figured it out was one sleepless night, he was thrashing around in our

bed. My dh and I were so exasperated that we put him in his own bed...he

slept without a whimper. If he needs to be in our bed or indicates he wants

to be with us, he is always welcome.
