I appreciate your message as it gives me hope! I truely now believe that

it is all connected somehow. We all seem to have night sweats, food

allergies, IBS, hair loss, etc. If you put it all together one would hope

for a solution.

Thanks

Vicki

For me, it seems to be related to a bit of seb derm on my scalp. I have been

using Nizoral shampoo once or twice a week. Fortunately, my hair is still

pretty thick and long--not thin by any means.

Strangely, when I first noticed my face and eyes becoming bothersome, I also

noticed my hair coming out in handfuls. This was about seven years ago, and I

didn't relate it at all to the other problems. I was also experiencing night

sweats, so I thought it was hormonal. I started using a dandruff shampoo and

the problem abated somewhat.

I still wonder how much of my skin, eye, and hair problems are hormone

related...

Hey,

About a year before I was diagnosed with cea, I experienced some hair

loss. I remember being able to grab hold of my hair and getting about 5 loose

strands at a time easily. I could do this all day long and get some loose

hair about everytime. I could really notice in the shower from just washing

my hair and ending up with strands on my hand and on the shower wall. This

only lasted for a few months from what I can remember. I don't notice that

kind of hair loss anymore. I also experienced night sweats. I will still have

them from time to time.

hey

I've been experiencing hair loss for about the same amount of time as

rosacea. I've tried bunches of treatments for both, but haven't had too

much success with either. Since you're a woman, the propecia pill is out

for you. That's the first thing a guy who's losing his hair should try.

You might consider rogaine. Those two are the only currently approved FDA

treatments for hair loss. You can get all the info you need about hair loss

at www.hairsite.com or www.regrowth.com

They're excellent web resources and have extensive sections and chat groups

for women.

Okay, this night sweat thing is getting wierd. Are night sweats

normal? Do we think they are related to rosacea? I dont get them

anymore. Is it just in the beginning proccess of the disease?

Night sweats can be caused by many things, one of them being hormonal

shifts. This can happen to woman well before menopause, in their late 30's,

or even after childbearing.

I developed rosacea at around age 40, but I had noticed some hair loss as

well as night sweats before then. Fun, huh ?

I don't have the night sweats, hair falling out, food allergies, or IBS,

and my rosacea is pretty bad. However, I think my rosacea was possibly

induced by my incorrect treatment of my skin when i had bad acne as a

teenager, and by stress and bormonal changes when I was first married, and

became pregnant. So it is probably different for different types of rosacea

as the doctor who is writing the book about rosacea stated. It seems though,

that there certainly could be an interesting connection between the sweats

and onset of rosacea for some people.
