Guest guest
Thanks, Cindi - I'll go search for Lowe stuff. The endo did test FT3 and FT4 and Mom was over the top, but she took all her thyroid meds right before we left for the lab. So I don't think the results are a true picture. I'm trying to convince this (Armour website recommended) endo that the TSH is meaningless, especially with Hashi's, but he's not yet buying this theory. I'll keep working on him, especially since I have a new patient appt with him 11/17. ....joan >>>tell the doc to forget TSH. if he really wants to know if she's hyper...he'll test her Free T4 and Free T3 to see if she's in range or way out of range. as far as the cellular resistance...I think Lowe has some articles on this since that's a theory with fibromyalgia. but maybe some wiser ones can point you directly to the info. cindi
Guest guest
I found a really good link on this, I think yesterday, then my puter froze, then I had to go to work. I'm going to find it again. It had all the reasons for cellular resistance. I'm going to find it again today. Cellular Resistance > > Oh Wise Ones: Could someone please point me to research about cellular > resistance? I know I've seen it mentioned here, but I checked the > archives and files and couldn't find any info. I called the endo to talk > more about Mom's lab results. I requested a decrease in levoxyl and retain > the two doses of cytomel, and he went along with it, which surprised the > heck out of me. I asked more questions and when I mentioned the word > 'hypo' the doctor said Mom is hyper , not hypo. I said that may be what > the blood tests show but she does not have any hyper symptoms. Then he > talked about the surpressed TSH, etc. Then I asked if the thyroid hormones > are getting into the cells or just circulating in the blood and if there is > a test for it. He never heard of this and wants to read where I got > this information. Can anyone help? I barely understand this stuff and > may have said something in error, but you wise ones will understand. > ...joan
