Guest guest
, Thanks for taking the time to answer all my posts! Not to sound inane, but how can you have hot flashes and night sweats and not realize it? Anyway, how can I get a hole of some estrogen to try it? I have used some progesterone to try and get copper levels down, but it does not seem to do anything for me. ~Inga _______ on 11/2/04 10:34 PM, T at artisticgroom@... wrote: >>I am very hypo. Guest guest
Exactly why I've just reordered my Estradiol Rx again. Having the same problems with hot flashes/sweats & hate the heat in the house. Have to keep the temp around 68-70 & no higher. Also have a fan on in my open window blowing onto my bed at night...all night long even in cold weather. I get an upset stomach & am dead in my tracks in the hot weather outside. It just wipes me out royally. I wore out my car air conditioner twice the past two summers & have it on almost constantly all summer long in the house. I just got the house heat fixed in here for the winter (pilot light was blown out) & I've been sweating to death with it on so have to keep it off or way low...mostly off tho. Re: Why am I so hot? Guest guest
Hey Val, Is it best to optimize thyroid before contemplating female hormone adjustments. Like I said, I've had the heat intolerance issue since I was diagnosed hypothyroid - but I just turned 40 this year and wondered if we have now wandered into the female hormone problem range. My house is continually set at 68 degrees - no matter the time of year - those who wander into my domain learn to bring a coat and there are blankets sprinkled throughout my house. I love to be outside but am not usually because I can't stand the temp in the summer - and if you add a drop of humidity - forget about it - I'm a useless lump of flesh. Just slightly too warm and I also feel nauseous, dizzy, and just overall yucky. Jen R. -- Re: Why am I so hot? I thought hypopeople were always cold. >>I am very hypo. Guest guest
I have ceiling fans in all of the rooms of my house except bathroom and dining room - the one over my bed runs 24/7/365 (poor husband - but he doesn t complain) - I must also confess to those wondering about starting the Armour - I started it last January and by this summer I could let my house be 5 degrees warmer than the previous 14 summers. Something good was happening to me. -- Re: Why am I so hot? I thought hypopeople were always cold. Exactly why I've just reordered my Estradiol Rx again. Guest guest
>>Is it best to optimize thyroid before contemplating female hormone adjustments.<< I would at least get close. Hypothyroid can also cause this kind of heat intolerance, but it is not a common as feeling cold. What is you daytime body temperature? Sometimes when that is really low, you will have the heat intolerance more so. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
Cold all the time points to thyroid dysfunction, but intolerance to both hot and cold points to adrenal exhaustion. Guest guest
>>Cold all the time points to thyroid dysfunction, but intolerance to both hot and cold points to adrenal exhaustion<< I have never experienced adrenal exhaustion, so I really can't say about this. I have never been cold intolerant either! Just the heat killed me. If I start sweating which I do with even moderate activity at 72 degrees, I feel instantly exhausted. To the point I must sit down. I had it happen last year at work alot, and not this year. The only differences being I am using estrogen this year and alot more thyroid meds. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
, I experienced the exact same thing after making a bed (changing sheets), not something that I ever thought of as being strenuous. I felt so ill, hot and heart pounding that I had to lay down. I asked about this on the womens hormones group and advised me the same as you have just said - estrogen. I have been using estriol cream for about 10 days now and have stopped feeling hot and I am also sleeping better. Lynda (in the UK) Re: Re: Why am I so hot? I thought hypopeople were always cold. Guest guest
I have had heat intolerence since I was 11 years old, and I would black out in the sun sometimes. Started periods at age 10. By the time I was 17, heat could put me in bed. Age 23, I would have to keep my head wet a lot to keep it cooled down. Now, (age 48...finally menstruating thanks to thyroid supplementation) when it hit 78-80 degrees or so, I often feel like my BRAIN is going to pop and I will die....I ice my head a lot. ????????? ~Inga on 11/3/04 1:23 AM, Caroline Pollak at MamaMaha@... wrote: Exactly why I've just reordered my Estradiol Rx again. Guest guest
Me too...can't stand the heat on over 68-70 degrees even in winter. I feel like I'm in a sauna if it's hotter than that. I also keep my bedroom window open next to my bed with a fan on in the window blowing onto my bed even in winter. Can't sleep without it on or with windows closed. Caroline Re: Why am I so hot? Guest guest
I must have adrenal exhaustion then as I'm intolerant to both heat & cold. I wasn't so much so when I was taking Estradiol tho. Now it's been about three months since I've taken it & ALL my symptoms have greatly worsened. Having the hot flashes/sweats are the worst of all. I just can't stand that anymore so I reordered the Estradiol & will start taking it again soon. Caroline Re: Re: Why am I so hot? That is almost dead! LOL But I still think the first thing to do ids get some good thyroid meds into yourself then se how you feel. If you are still real heat intolerant, then check into female hormones as a cause. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes?
