Guest guest
Racheal, Very often sinus can be fungal rather than bacterial or allergy. I have had what you describe. You are seeing what the result is.I also have used the proxide baths as I can feel my sinuses decongest when I take them. I have used peroxide as a gargle and some in an inhaler as well. It helps clear things up. This will do the trick. Its miserable going through it. Guest guest
Kathy, Your new flare may be due to the ragweed season. I don't know what area you currently reside in, but ragweed is totally out of control in the DC Metro area. Seasonal allergies always make my RA flare and I generally feel worse. BTW, I am glad the flagyl is working for you. I have a feeling that I need to be on that too. I am diabetic and I always have yeast problems even w/out the AP. Best wishes, Mel rheumatic Herx? I have taken flagyl for the third time yesterday. The other doses were last Tuesday and Thursday @ 500 mg./day, and yesterday. I just came out of a flare that lasted a couple of months, and for the past three weeks I have been feeling pretty good. But this morning, I hurt. Its all specific, not an overall bad feeling. Pain in my hands, fingers, and a few other specific areas. My question - could this be a herx from the flagyl? Guest guest
Kathy, I am also on flagyl it does that. I flet awful while on it at the beginning. It was prescribed just a few times a week? I take it daily. The other thing is yes allergies impact greatly. I was cleared onf many allergies using Naet( naet.com). It has worked well for me. Getting a good practitioner I think is really important Let me know if I canhelp Marge > > Kathy, > Your new flare may be due to the ragweed season. Guest guest
Hi Mel, I sufferred horribly at first. You may want to lower the dose or skip a day. Rememeber it IS dose related. You made need just a tad less for now. Please do benedryl at nightas wellas a proxide bath to detox. It really helps so much! Email me..I never mind I just started the flagyl cream today. Love Marge > Hey guys, > > i know i wrote that i herxed after 2 days of the cocktail. now, yesterday i fell into a flare that i could not move my left wrist at all w/out severe pain, my shoulders and neck were in constant pain and knees have fluid and bottom of both feet hurt terribly. I continue today though not as bad on the wrist, but it still has fluid in it. last week, my 2nd week on the cocktail i had increased pain, but not like this. now today my throat hurts. i take 12 grams of C a day, plus antibiotics so i doubt that i am sick. no one else i know is sick. i cannot rule it out completely though. > > 2 days after i started the meds, i had severe dizziness, nausea and cold sweats. they went away a few days later. then last wed i had them come back again. then thurs i was driving to pick up my son from daycare and i kept falling asleep behind the wheel. then i felt the cold sweats and dizziness so bad that I thought that my sugar was low (i am diabetic). but it wasn't. i was really tired all weekend too. i am always up long after hubby goes to sleep. but this weekend i was out for a couple hours before he turned off the tv. > > I hope this is a herx, but i don't know and i am so useless right now that i cannot function to do my day to day things. so if it isn't a herx i need to do something else. has anyone else had this experience? if so, was it a herx for you? > > any response is appreciated. > > thanks, > mel > >
Guest guest
E M.................You have now experienced the reason why I believe many people give up on this treatment after a bit. The two steps forward and one back is a real pain. Unlike most meds where we expect to take them and feel better until we are well, this treatment is slow and requires persistant. It also can give us a really good period and then one morning our joints lest us know they are still capable of making us unhappy!! Some people herx and others do not...just the facts of this treatment. Also even before I was on this treatment I had bad times and really bad times. It is the nature of this disease, sort of like riding on a roller coaster, and no matter if it is weather fronts coming through, stress or just tiredness, it makes us really grumpy!!! Even though I consider myself in remission, I occasionally have a joint or two that likes to complain, just enough to remind me how fortuntate I am to have stayed with the Minocin. My daughter now has RA and I have had her on minocin about 8 weeks. She keeps moaning how she is hurting. I keep telling her to just stick with the minocin. Next summer she will be eligible for insurance with her company and if the minocin has not fully kicked in will take her to Dr.S for the nizoral/minocin combo. Its harder on ones body but does speed the minocin process up. At least it did for me. Best of wishes for better health this coming year......Martha

Guest guest
Hello everyone: This is Roni, I have SD and wondering if anyone has experienced a herx when your anticenemere numbers come back really low? At the last blood test, my anticenemere numbers were 297 and my ANA at 1,200. My doctor switched me from flagyll to doxy and now I'm experiencing that horrible itch that comes with SD and swollen hands. Has anyone out there with SD experienced a herx with numbers this low? Guest guest
My son(9) has been on rifampin and zith for 14 months.  We had to stop the zith for a few days because he had the 24 hour stomach flu that was going around, and the zith is so rough on the stomach. His pediatrician suggested we stop it for a few days.  His 24 hr bug  turned into a month long flu. He was having vomitting and nausea, headache, intermittent rashes, and horrific ocd and separation anxiety, that have still not let up . I'm sorry you are going through this as well!!! Guest guest
Kari, That is one of the hardest questions I ask myself somedays. Is it Lyme or something else? When do we call the doctor, should we go to the ER, when do we think about switching meds, how long do we hold out to see if it improves, is it a herx, the flu, overdoing it???? Is the Bartonella back, should it be treated, is the babesia again or the mycoplasma??? The unknowns are enough to drive me batty sometimes. My Lyme friends help keep me in check. They don't always have the answers but sometimes can help me focus and decide what is the best course to take. These lists are wonderful for that.
