Guest guest
Hmmm... I just thought with them having growing bones they needed a more balanced diet- pertaining to the food groups. I don't know. What you think? KnoblochSent from my BlackBerry® wireless device from U.S. CellularFrom: "Katcha" Date: Thu, 02 Jul 2009 03:54:29 -0000To: <IntuitiveEating_Support >Subject: Re: My lunch!!! If you really didn't want to eat the bun, how can NOT eating it be wrong? As far as your kids seeing you toss it, what are you concerned about them seeing? Is 'wasting food' something that bothers you? Or have you admonished them for not eating something that you thought they ought to? If you can find comfortable words, perhaps you can say you are all going to have a 'reset' regarding your ideas about eating. They ought to appreciate your honesty and will learn more from you about making better choices too. Best to you, Katcha > > I had a delicious tenderloin and THREW AWAY THE BUN! Guest guest
My thoughts, too. If they saw you throwing away the bun because you didn't want to eat it, because you didn't think it would benefit you (putting it tactfully), I would think that letting your kids see you do that would help them. If they asked why, you could tell them that you didn't feel that you really needed the bread and want to do the best for yourself by your body. :-) CindiIf you really didn't want to eat the bun, how can NOT eating it be wrong? Guest guest
YES! You beat me to it... I'm a little less fluent in IE so it takes awhile longer 4 it to creep into my brain! Thanks! I love this group! KnoblochSent from my BlackBerry® wireless device from U.S. CellularFrom: "Katcha" Date: Thu, 02 Jul 2009 15:31:59 -0000To: <IntuitiveEating_Support >Subject: Re: My lunch!!! What comes to my mind is the EXternal input stuff - aka the 'shoulds'. 'Balanced' diet by WHAT standards? I believe that the IE authors talk about 'balancing' as rather a natural process where if one has eaten lots of meat for a bit, your body may then start to direct you towards fruits and veggies to 'balance' out nutriments etc. Hard and fast rules are handy, but they are 'one-size-fits-well-most' at best. Plus I never thought of bread as a fabulous source of calcium (for bone growth) ;-) Katcha > > Hmmm...
