hi everyone - i've been going thru the old messages but wanted to post one of my

own.

i've been reading the book and trying to follow the principles. mostly i'm just

trying to figure out when i'm hungry and when i'm not.

i know it's unique to every person. but if i had to wait to eat until i was

absolutely sure i was hungry every time, i would only eat like once a day.

i've never really been a dieter but i've definitely got the food police with all

the " good " and " bad " food stuff going. keeping track of what i ate just made me

anxious.

i've been trying to eat what i feel hungry for and to eat more slowly and to not

eat until i'm stuffed. but my signals seem to be messed up.

like, if we go out for sushi, i could eat one roll and be fine and everyone else

can eat like 2 or 3 or 4 rolls, not to mention soup etc.

i kind of feel like i'm not participating or that i'm not eating enough.

none of my friends are overweight and all grew up in families that encouraged

healthy eating and exercise. mine did not. i'm not exactly overweight (5'6 " ,

168) but i could definitely stand to lose about 30 pounds.

i really just get frustrated and i'm worried i'm not going to ever learn what my

body " sounds " like. i'm probably being too hard on myself but i'm here for

support, so HELP! :)
