Guest guest
I am also diabetic here. I have just started intuitive eating since end of April and so far I have not lose weights yet. However, I have not gain a weights at all. Another thing I can said you have to make peace with foods instead of make them your enemy which can be trigger your eating habit throw off. Second of that you should learn how to listen your body what they tell you. To be honest that it does take time to figure it out. If you have had bought this book and you should reading or already did. Eliza > > I am a type 2 diabetic. I have been on so many diets in my lifetime and I know I just cannot do another one. I continue to gain weight no matter what I do. This morning 322! Is there anyone with type 2 diabetes having success with intuitive eating? I want to lose weight and that is my 2ndary goal-primary goal is to be healthy. HELP!!! I'm so leaning toward gastric bypass surgery and that is not what I really want to do. > > Thanks > >

Guest guest
I don't have diabetes, but I understand medical restrictions. I have celiac disease (gluten intolerance) and 6 additional food allergies. However, I consider my medical restrictions (abstinence from gluten and food allergens) INTERNALLY dictated necessities, rather than external 'diet rules'. So my own body, rather than a diet book or program, requires me to avoid certain foods. I never doubt that eating my food allergens will cause physical damage to my body, because I get painful reactions. When I was first diagnosed with CD and then food allergies, I researched all the foods I could safely eat, I purchased a few allergy free recipe books and I subscribed to a magazine for people with food allergies, which often included recipes for safe dishes. I learned that, despite all the foods (more often ingredients) which I must avoid to prevent allergy reactions, I still have many choices. When I consider what I want to eat, I first I imagine what flavors, textures, temperatures, etc. would feel ogood in my stomach. Then I consider what specific nonallergenic foods will satisfy my cravings. So intuitive eating works very well within my medical restrictions. > > I am a type 2 diabetic.
