Guest guest
Hello Group! I got " zapped " --2nd treatment just today (26 Jan) at the Medical Aesthetics office across from TG and all went well. I am currently blotchy (nothing new here) and a bit swollen in spots, but the burning-stinging feeling is gone. Barb, after doing a side of the face, places refrigerated cotton squares/gauze pads on the treated areas to calm them, and then moves on to a different area of the face. My impression is that this helps tremendously because I leave the office feeling maybe " hot " but nothing worse than that. I shall reiterate: I have " type III " skin; normal to oily; tans easily though I've never been a sun worshipper because HEAT bothers my face so badly; am in my fifties and have suffered acne (or should I say ACNE) rosacea for longer than I care to remember; medium tone skin. OK--on to the treatment (never comfortable, really): the settings were at 590 for the filter; starting with 46 joules, double pulse--forgive please, I do not remember the " delay " settings at this point; two " test patches " at 46 which Barb said " they aren't doing anything " ; moved to 48 j-- " not too effective " --then our final setting was at 54 j, kept at the 590, with double pulse; now medical aesthetics has the machine that has the combo photoderm/ndYAG laser, newer than the regular photoderms so we did a few pulses around my nose with the ndYAG today, also--much easier to tolerate than the " flash burn " feeling of the photoderm....I actually left their office with some PALE spots today! 1st treatment, we used the 570, with ultimately a 52 j setting--I think with the test patches done, the setting was first at 48 j Best regards, Carol
