Guest guest
I'm so new to the diet I don't know why Elaine doesn't like canola, but it's a synthetic oil made in Canada. From what I understand, the body doesn't know what to do with it. Olive oil is definitely considered a much better choice. I bet someone can answer this better than I, but that's the little I know of it. Robbie Re: canola oil (was Re: legal mayo) Hi. Why doesn't Elaine like canola oil? Guest guest
Hi Patti, Elaine has written in the past that sometimes canola plants revert to rapeseed, which it was bred from. Rapeseed oil is not edible and has caused death in those that have consumed it. http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/canola_oil.htm I don't know if the non-GMO has that problem also. Sheila 40 mos SCD, 20 yrs UC mom of SCD 25 mos I've seen canola oil in the US that is labeled non-GMO (in health food stores), so maybe it would be OK as long as people looked for that?
