Guest guest
I have been using a kefir maker to make yogurt. I feel that the yogurt is kind of too warm lately. So, I check the finished yogurt temp. today and found that it's around 120-125 F. I guess there's a problem, right? Kym

Guest guest
Kym, What kind of yogurt maker do you have? I just bought a Salton and I have had the same problem. My friend ordered one at the same time, and hers is working fine - at the correct temp. I guess they have some quality control problems. Guest guest
Enzymes (and hence other living critters) die off at 118F - so I imagine after a while at 120-125 there would be little benefits. Keep it though - you can still use it for cooking. Ann > I have been using a kefir maker to make yogurt. I feel that the yogurt is > kind of too warm lately.
