Guest guest
I hope that through this group that I can learn to do that. Hershey chocolate is not going anywhere. There is enough to last a lifetime. Subject: Re: Interesting observation...To: IntuitiveEating_Support Date: Thursday, May 28, 2009, 12:55 PM I find this super, super interesting and when I think about it, it makes perfect sense. I bet your kids enjoyed their food so much more because of this. > > > I just thought it was interesting to watch my kids today at lunch. Today was a mac n' cheese day, which is pretty much a staple in this house. Usually I make up 3 boxes of Kraft mac n' cheese for my 5 kiddos. Usually they clean out the pan and beg for more. And it always seems to be a competition. ..the oldest wants to eat the very last drop and the others try to eat as much as they can before oldest cleans it all out. The last two times I've made 4 boxes worth...and believe it or not...I usually end up having 1-2 boxes worth of leftovers!!! ! What's interesting, is that now that everyone knows that there is plenty to go around, they eat more slowly, don't try to compete with each other, and ultimately end up eating LESS...Go figure!!!! > > Anyway, I thought it was pretty interesting and you guys are the only ones that I knew of that would truly appreciate this observation > > Have a good day! > God Bless, > Dayna:) > > ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _ > Hotmail® has a new way to see what's up with your friends. > http://windowslive. com/Tutorial/ Hotmail/WhatsNew ?ocid=TXT_ TAGLM_WL_ HM_Tutorial_ WhatsNew1_ 052009 >
Guest guest
My father was also a cook in the Navy. He knew how to cook for 300 people. He made the best homemade Mac & Cheese. It was requested whenever there was a wedding. It was the only time that we had it homemade. Dad would always make a tray just for us. It would not even last one day. Mac N Cheese always brings back good memories. So does eating watermelon.Subject: Re: Interesting observation...To: IntuitiveEating_Support Date: Thursday, May 28, 2009, 12:34 PM That intend is very interest. This had brought back some of my memories when I was a nanny to my cousin's 6 kids. I did exact the same thing with mac n' chesse once a week. Before I started cooking for everyone. They usual complain about too little dry or too wet from time to time. Until I started cook that and they loved it as they begged for more. Make with 8 boxes worth and sometimes add tuna to it. They did wonder how did I able to make it so good for large number of people. One thing about that my father was a chef for the navy 20 years. He was the one who taught me how to figure it out for this large of people. Last week one night I was in mood to cook for this 8 people in house. They usual make this type of meal too greasy to the point upset my stomach so badly or heartburn like hell. SO, I told them that I will cook at that time. They love it and told me how amazed I made it so good without too much greasy. It was one of those hamburger helper. Eliza > > > I just thought it was interesting to watch my kids today at lunch. This is a brilliant idea with the boxes. My family, and especially I, do the same thing so I will try this! Warrior > > > I just thought it was interesting to watch my kids today at lunch.
