Thank you for your post Kimberle I too struggle with the have to because I am a fixer and a people pleaser and when I can't fix a problem or people don't like something that I do( I can't please them) it is hard for me. I has taken me a long time to learn what you just wrote thanks for the reminder. Eva

Hello -After reading all of the posts today, I thought I would give some insight into a problem I had with "Have to". I am a people pleaser, Type A personality. I got so caught up into "I have to do this" whether it be eat right, diet, exercise, go to church, etc. I started having major melt downs and anxiety attacks. It was awful.I had to turn that all around. First of all, I don't HAVE to do anything (well - breathe maybe, that's it!). Secondly, there are things I now CHOOSE to do (and when to do them). My whole life I tried to do things to please others - my parents, my first husband, relatives, etc. My behavior at one point was much like a toddler melting down (in private - not throwing myself on the floor having a fit in Walmart or anything like that!). Yes, I have responsibilities, but I can choose to wash windows today or next week. The world won't stop rotating. Kimberlie

Hello -

After reading all of the posts today, I thought I would give some insight into a

problem I had with " Have to " .

I am a people pleaser, Type A personality.

I got so caught up into " I have to do this " whether it be eat right, diet,

exercise, go to church, etc. I started having major melt downs and anxiety

attacks. It was awful.

I had to turn that all around. First of all, I don't HAVE to do anything (well

- breathe maybe, that's it!). Secondly, there are things I now CHOOSE to do

(and when to do them).

My whole life I tried to do things to please others - my parents, my first

husband, relatives, etc. My behavior at one point was much like a toddler

melting down (in private - not throwing myself on the floor having a fit in

Walmart or anything like that!). Yes, I have responsibilities, but I can choose

to wash windows today or next week. The world won't stop rotating.
