Like in Abbi's post, my diet of choice was Weight Watchers. I lost 35 pounds with WW 10 months ago for my little sisters wedding. I felt great! After the wedding I was so sick of counting points!! I just couldn't do it anymore. I then went back to my non diet eating habits. I have always loved to eat for 'entertainment'. I get bored and I eat. I think it's also been a way of escape for me. I'm a stay at home mother of 5, and in the afternoon when my little ones would nap, I would eat and watch tv for 2 hours. > > Anyway, here I am 10 months after my sister's wedding and I have gained all 35 pounds back plus 8 more pounds on top of that. > > I'm a little nervous about saying goodbye to diets forever. I am one that is always researching the latest diet and wanting to give it a try. I was watching the Today Show this morning. Jillian from 'The Biggest Loser' was plugging her book, it was about making over your metabolism. I found myself intrigued and getting sucked into what she was saying. Finally, I snapped out of it and changed the channel. I guess this is my first victory?? > > I am looking forward to being a part of this group and this journey! > Thanks for listening! > Angie > welcome. i'm fairly new here too. i totally understand still being nervous about giving up the diet mentality. it's so easy to think that you can still make it work. but even if you could, at what cost? i think that IE is definitely the answer for some people (if not most)and you know because you have this little voice inside that says " yes, this is what is right. this is what i need to do to be happy, healthy and fee myself so i can live " in the beginning that voice is very small. but i have to hope that if you keep trying and feeding that voice it will get bigger and the journey will get somewhat easier. it wont happen overnight. Guest guest
Welcome Angie. I'm pretty new here too. I've been reading the book " Intuitive Eating " and coming to this board and am loving it.It does feel odd to think of no more diets, but just try to have an open mind and hang in there. Guest guest
If diets worked for any of us, I don't think we'd be here. ;-) Warrior > > > > Wanted to introduce myself and chime in.
