Guest guest
I prefer cold foods on hot days. So I've been eating lots more entree salads for dinners. We grow berries (raspberries, strawberries and blueberries). So I eat those for breakfasts with cereal or peanut butter and a muffin almost every morning. We also grow our own vegies, likep peas, carrots, lettuce, zucchini and tomatoes. So our garden ensures that we have lots of fresh vegies for our entree (with meat or fish) dinner salads. I ate lots of ice cream and cherries earlier this summer, but I'm tired of it now. So I prefer melon chunks when I want something sweet now. I love the variety of summer produce. However, I tend to eat what's freshest (and least expensive) during each season. While that should be something to rejoice about, it sorta throws a wrench into the machinery when it comes to finding something appealing to eat. Watermelon sounds good, but it won't satisfy for long. Ice cream is cool but almost too 'rich'. And I'm not much of an ice tea drinker and water is soooo flat and uninteresting tasting after a couple of glasses. Guess its just summer doldrums ;-) > > Katcha > IEing since March 2007 >
Guest guest
If you're craving things like watermelon and other fruits, who says you can't eat more often? You're craving watermelon, but it doesn't satisfy for long...so have some more right away when you get hungry again! Perhaps eating things like watermelon will set your hydration right again, and your appetite for other foods will return as well. My instinct is that your body knows what it needs, even if it's a big bowl of watermelon every half hour! If your water tastes flat, have you tried any of the ways to flavor it up a bit? Put a lemon wedge in the bottom of your water bottle. I've heard that a slice of cucumber in the bottom of a water bottle makes the water have a nice flavor as well. Try half water and half fruit juice. Make homemade gatorade for a lightly flavored drink. Or if all else fails, buy gatorade or whatever else you crave! Again, your body knows what it needs, and whatever liquid you crave will hydrate you. Guest guest
For years that my sister and I always being told very weird people with eating habit during summer. Because we almost never cooking anything at all during the summer. Since we do not have Air Conditionor which could not afford and let alone worry about the eleritic bills would be far worse. We just simply have salad, pudding, jello, pasta salad, chips, sandwiches, toast, fruits with whipping cream, or her favorite chesse cottage as I hate so much but she use that with peaches additions and many things among to avoid cooking much as possible. If we ever want hot foods. Then we will make sure it would take less than 20 minutes unless we plan to have it as left over.. then will cook in very early morning while it's still cool outside or the night before next day. There many ways to have cool foods and yet still have hot foods without turn up hot inside the house.
