thanks for replying!

i just reread the first 3 chapters again last night in Intuitive Eating and that

helped me remember that it's a process of retraining my body.

it just seems so overwhelming and weird to imagine that i can actually " know "

what i should eat when i have been told the opposite my entire life.

my bf is well-meaning but constantly questions my eating habits and makes

judgemental comments or facial expressions if i even comment that a dessert or

something he considers unhealthy looks good or sounds yummy. i had to explain

to him last night the difference between " diet - what you eat " and " diet -

restricting what you eat " . he has no guilt about food whatsoever, lucky guy ;)

fortunately, he's supportive overall and that's wonderful. but it just makes it

hard to " listen " to my body when someone else is questioning what i may be

" listening " to.

Be sure to read the Food Police and the Diet Rebel chapters. They'll likely

prove VERY helpful. Protect your boundaries! I too once had to battle my hubby

at first who was not supportive.

We teach people how to treat us. And when we ourselves change, they too, in

time, need to learn how to treat us differently. It goes both ways in

relationships. Be patient with yourself and him.
