Hi all...My name is karon...operation date is Jan.14....Just around

the corner. I am 50 years old and a mother of 2 grown kids...I given

my word to my daughter that I would go horse back ridding with her on

Mothers Day. The first day of the rest of my life is coming soon...At

this point of my life I have NO QUALITY of life. I have always been a

" BIG " girl but I was active..running a day care for 12 years. Well I

went back to " outside of the home " work and SAT down in 1996 and

forgot to stand up again. My day is...Get out of bed..SIT and have

coffee..go out and SIT in my car and drive to work...take the elevator

to my job and SIT in a chair..most of the time I forget to go to the

bathroom...after all that would mean I would have to stand up...leave

work 8 hours later and SIT in my car to SIT and eat super and go to

bed. I can not walk long enough to go shopping...But with my Handy

Cap Plate on my car I can almost drive into a restauant and SIT and

eat....Well this is my year to shine..This year I will go horse back

riding..I will buy a bike..I will quit my job and get OFF my ...BY now

my BIG FLAT A--...I will walk and stop to smell the roses..I will live

every day like there is no tomorrow..

unbreakable..So remember..A heart is not judged by how much you love,

but by how much you are loved by others " I will take time to love

, I second that!!!! But it will pass, eventually...... as the saying

goes, good things come to those who wait, or something like that. 4 weeks

is a long time to be patient though. Let me know when it breaks.

Hey congrats !!!! We broke our plateau's together!!! Wasn't it nice

to have a big drop all at once like that!!!!! Made my weekend and I am sure

it did yours as well!!!!

Candi

(unknown)

Hey all!! This is in Missouri!

Well....Guess what!! I BROKE THAT LOONNNGGGG PLATEAU! lol

Remember...I emailed you all about me being on a plateau for almost 4

weeks. This morning I weighted and to my relief and happiness, I went

from the stubborn plateau weight of 188 to 181!! Yea me!!!!!!!!

Geez...this was the longest plateau so far! I had made a new years

resolution to get in my required water, protein drinks, more work out

sessions and not skipping my daily vitamins. I took all your advice

and it paid off!! I did it! Now I'm only 2 POUNDS AWAY FROM JOINING

THE CENTURY CLUB!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I'VE DONE THIS!! I'm a

diabetic and I have Neuropathy in my feet and toes. Although it will

not improve alot, It won't get worse. I'm off insulin and diabetic

meds and now i'm just on diabetic meds gone down from 3 a day to two a

day. I use to take 30 cc's of insulin 3 times a day before surgery.

I saw my pcp last monday and by blood pressure was 120/70!!! I was

taking two bp meds twice a day. Now I'm down to only one a day!!!

GOD IS GOOD!! I am blessed!!

Thanks so much for all your input and suggestions and all your words

of support!

Now...on to the losing track once again until I hit the wall with

another plateau! LOL I'LL NEED YOUR WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT ONCE

AGAIN WHEN IT HAPPENS! LOL

Love to all!

I have not tried these but I do drink the Shape Up drinks from Dr. Phil

in Chocolate. They are 26g of protein and only 10 g of sugar...I don't

remember the carb count but it's pretty low as well and they're yummy.

We've all probably tried (and obviously hoped), but nothing has worked yet that I am aware of. Actually, now that I think about it, there was one individual who recently posted some various vitamins and minerals he had been taking, but he had also already been in a a drug-induced remission, I believe. If your boyfriend begins taking heavy meds, Tracie can tell you what vitamins/minerals should be taken along with them. I will be finding out on 11/22 which medications my doctor is going to be putting me on, and will be asking info on what supplements I should be taking in addition to the methotrexate and/or plaquenil or imuran. I don't want to ask yet, since my mind will forget ... and I've been somehow "misplacing" my e-mails lately, too.

Hi Quint. It's good to hear from you. We've missed your words of wisdom! I hope the MTX agrees with so you can get off that awful pred. How have you been feeling besides the issues with your eyesight? Hope you had a good Thanksgiving holiday!

In the meantime, I fixed your email address in the database on this end. On your end, if you go into "My Account" page and follow instructions from there , you should be able to install your new email address. Hi Quint, Marla here, I was able to get off the pred after I started Mtx, have

been on the mtx for 18 months now, have more relief

of some symptoms with the mtx then I did with the pred. and I can stand the side effects of the mtx,

but not the pred. Although I had to do an IV solu-medrol burst for three days last weekend. The pain seems to be getting worse and I

had a terrible pain attack. Am better

now though, and hanging in there with the mtx, I told

my wonderful doc that I would do the IV steroids or 3 days, but not continue

with the oral, and he agreed. I

hope things go well for you and you can get off the pred.

I will keep you in my thoughts and

prayers.

Quint!

How nice to see you here with us. I was worried! about you, but

despite your warnings about losing half your brain (where is it

vacationing now?) you seem especially lucid and that makes me

especially glad.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Hi ,

I am in the same situation with . I have been calling for weeks, and never receive a reply. I also feel like I have fallen off the radar. The only consolation I have is that I was told there are more than 400 people in the Fremont program alone. So, I have to just keep on trying, I guess. Let me know if you have any success and what you did to finally get some attention. I will do the same.

Best regards,

Merrie

Hi , don't blame you for being frustratted, is not the easiest

person to work with. When I can get in touch with her, I find her helpful,

but getting ahold of her is the thing. I get so sick of hearing them talk

about how many patients, as if that should be our problem when we are

trying to get our health needs met. I think that problem should be one

that Kaiser solves by giving them more help, not one that we're expected to

put up with. LaWanda At 08:37 AM 1/22/05, you wrote:

I repeat, if there are that many people, then they should get her some

help! We shouldn't have to put up with this kind of ignorance on the part

of the Kaiser staff, whatever the reason. LaWanda At 10:41 AM 1/22/05,
