Guest guest
Roy, Welcome back. I think your idea is great. I copied your letter of invitation and am giving it to my family. I hope they get back to you. Rich I know needs to vent. I think it is harder on family than it is on us and we stress and feel guilty because of them. Did that make sense?? Never mind, I just hope they will join. Great idea!!!

Guest guest
Hello, you found the right place. About the Cystic Fibrosis thing, chronic pancreatitis can be caused by a mutation of the same gene that causes Cystic Fibrosis. This may be what the doctor's were talking about. A really good website that has more about this is http://www.pancreas.org/ if you are interested in looking it up. I've have chronic pancreatitis from a birth defect called a pancreatic divisum (divided ducts). I've been technically fighting this for fourteen years, though the doctors and my family suspect I may have been suffering from it most of my life too. I had my first case of pancreatitis when I was sixteen. I'm now 31 and I've had over 15 cases of acute pancreatitis that eventually turned chronic. I'm know it's a hard disease to live with and I can't imagine how you and the others on this group, who have to take care of little kids as well as themselves. I, unfortunately, don't have kids and can't have any in the future due to other existing medical problems. It can be depressing at times. That's why I'm on an anti-depressant. Believe me, it helps. I hope you find this group wonderful and as helpful as I have since I found them. Believe me, they all know, one way or another, what you are going through. We're here for you anytime you need a hug, a smile, a laugh, a cry or just to scream and vent. Kimber -- Kimber hominid2@... Guest guest
Hello, I'm glad you were able to find us. I understand what you are going through. I 've had 2 to 3 acute attacks for five years before I was finnaly diagnosed with chronic panc as well as a stricture in the duct last january. It's a difficult disease to deal with and most people don't understand and think were just fine. I've felt like I missed out on so much in my kids lives because I've been so sick. You are not alone and we know what you are going through. if there is any way we can help just let us know. Thanks, Rob

Guest guest
Does anyone in this group have their preferences set to individual emails? I have 8 e-groups I read daily and had 1 that I had set for this preference. Recently, I set them all to be individual emails and only 2 are actually performing that task. I gues I'm wondering also if anyone has any insite to this. All my settings are the same for each group and just think it's weird. Thanks for the input. This is a supurb group by the way!! Guest guest
Nora, First of all....welcome to the losing side! I think you may be experiencing some " head hunger " . The rumbling you are hearing or feeling possibly could be your insides moving back into place. I know I felt and heard (and everyone else heard) when my intestines were moving back into place. Not to mention when the gas started moving. Do not give in to the thoughts of hunger. Drink more fluids. You are at the stage when you should only be on liquids anyways. Cream soups were good. I would heat them up and strain them then strain them again to make sure I got all the pieces of meat out. I also ate alot of SF popsicles at that stage. And yogurt. I would strain the yogurt and eat about 1/3 of the cup then eat some more later. When I advanced to the soft stage....I ate alot of cottage cheese. It went down good and I was able to " mush " it up really good in my mouth before I swallowed it. Drink as much water as you can to keep hydrated and this will also give you the full feeling alot longer. Remember to sip the water and do not gulp. I made the mistake of gulping and it really hurt! Did you have open or lap done? Take care and I am glad that you are home. Guest guest
Nora, I ate SF Jello, soups...any kind except I strained them, SF Pudding, SF popsicles, Yogurt (I found that the Walmart Great Value brand lite had less sugar in it than any of the others), SF Ice Cream, Any thing that is considered liquid. Did your dr give you a list of things that you can eat? Mine did but it is at home and I am currently in Baltimore visiting with my mom. I never had any luck with the protein shakes. I did drink SF Carnation Instant Breakfast. I would use skim milk to make it and I drank it several times a day. I also had apple juice. (unsweetened) but only drink 2- 3 oz of it per day cause of the natural sugars in it. If I think of anything else I will let you know. Don't get discouraged...you will be eating solid food before you know it. I had the open done but I am sure that the guidelines are the same for lap or open. Do not be afraid to ask your surgeon for guidance. Or call the dietician. Every surgeon is different in what they will and won't allow their patients to have...so be sure to call him to ask any questions. Guest guest
Glad it wasn't as bad as last time. (hugs) Kathy Hi Hi! Had Remicade today - feel rotten, but not as bas as last time. Gyn called yesterday & rescheduled my colposcopy to June 3, so tomorrow I don't have to do anything I don't want to do. Melinda, How did your Remicade go? ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here Please visit our website at:http://ACES_Autoimmune.tripod.com
