One thing I do remember from Thin Within regarding liquids.....the one thing they suggested was that you don't use liquids to wash things down....in other words, if you are trying to rush through it, or it doesn't taste good, or it wasn't what you expected, washing it down with liquids isn't what naturally thin people would choose to do.  They would stop eating the food or would have had the refreshment to being with, depending on what their body was asking for.  Nor would they use liquid to 'fill up' because to me, that is almost like an " I don't deserve to be hungry to eat this', part of a dieting mentality.  The other thing they suggested was that all drinks, except water, affected your hunger level, so to consider that when eating and/or drinking liquids and choose as to what your body is asking for at that time.

I think the benefits of water are clear (oh my, what a horrible pun), but I think it should be something you enjoy.  I often will enjoy a glass of water with a slice of lemon - somehow it makes me feel more special!  I used to even cut a sprig of mint into it, and put it in a pretty glass until my gardener eradicated all my mint unbeknownst to me (aarggh).  Make it enjoyable, not a must-do.

I don't remember any 'suggestions' regarding liquids, but I do remember the mention of how its not uncommon for food to be eaten when liquids are what are sought. I found that I didn't drink much water and when I did find a way to help myself to drink some more during the day, I also felt less 'hungry'.

IE is all about NO rules. That is the realm of dieting - do this, don't do that - hard and fast rules one follows. What IE hopes to encourage is for a person to (re) discover what is positive and negative in the way of nourishment and to choose as much positives as one can.

Try drinking what you think you want. I bet you find your needs and limits soon too.
