free t3 median is 325 so your freet3 is low

freet4 median is 1.3 so your freet4 is at least in the top half of the

range though many drs prefer it to be higher than that

your ferritin is definitely low

did you get a full blood count/CBC/HB done as well?

Oh she would never approve of those tests. I am still waiting on

finding out if I have to pay for the ferrtin test cause she did not

reccommend it. I am looking into another doctor to see if I can get

all the labs done that need to be done.

Very true but how can she deny that my tsh actually went up when my

synthroid dose was raised? She has put me on 1.5 gr of Armour because

I asked her to even though she said it was a " horrible " drug. The

next appointment is not to let her treat me but to let her know (and I

know its going to be pointless) that my health is going down and I

don't appreciate her acting like she is God of my health without my

concerns answered. I am definately looking for a different doctor

cause I am tired of being unwell. I am looking into one that people

have said really listens to his patients and loves armour. That he

listens to symptoms and not labs. only problem is you have to join a

club now to see him but if its going to make me better I can't wait.

He is on Shomon's top doc website too.

what she's been taught to worship. What I do notice is also that the

ranges that your lab uses, which helps to see what end of what they

consider to be 'normal' is. That is what allowed me to be able to see

just how low which tests ranged.

your labs were changing after she put you on Sinthyroid, and that your

TSH was coming down on that dose. In her eyes, this is completely

acceptable.

be greatly suprised. She's giving you a drug that the medical

community touts as being 'superior' although many of us will testify

that that's hogwash. lol. I can't count the times I 've heard that

it just 'takes time' to get these levels right, and there are many

people who believe that. They will go for years allowing a dr to 'get

it right' even when they feel awful. Anybody who is going to a dr who

mainly pays attention to TSH is not going to be treated optimally.

That is the one thing anybody here will tell you up front. Most main

stream Endo's operate the exact way your dr is treating you. If your

symptoms get worse, and they're not considered into the factor,

optimal treatment just isn't a possiblility. But, if you had been

given Armour, and the ferritin being low was an issue, your dr would

have merely said, see, I told you Armour doesn't work.

labs

Yup, my doc has signed her own pink slip. My husband and I are going

to be going back to her one more time to basically ask her why she

didn't comment on my tsh going up, and my low levels of ft3 and ferritin.

Here are what my levels were before any meds:

Free T4: 0.9

Free T3: 245

Tsh : 14.9

My tsh on 125 Synthroid: 1.1

she didn't check the others

and my recent labs after being on 137 Synthroid

Ft4: 1.5 (went up)

Ft3: 260 (went up a whole 15 ooooh)

tsh: 2.8 (went up 1.7 which is not good)

Ferritin: 34 with a range of 10-154 (guess I need iron suppliments)

Any advice would be appreciated.

I must be missing something, although it is Synthroid, your numbers look

better. The tsh is way down from the 14.9, the free t3 is up but not enough

and the free t4 is much bettert. What are you objecting to? You need more

meds but are heading in the right direction. Maybe they will switch you to

Armour to help the t3

All Endo's have a tendency to have the God complex. I didn't realize that this

appt with the dr your seeing now is just to get things off your chest. I don't

think she's going to deny that your TSH went up, but look at you wondering why

you are worried about it when it's still in what dr's consider 'normal range'.

To her there is no reason to be upset or to take offense. I'd be leary of

making waves until you have a better dr in your court for the armour but those

are just my thoughts, unless you want to end up self medicating because armour

works better for you than not. My last dr was so angry with me for taking

armour without her approval, she literally wrote up a letter to my pcp. Since I

had to have a referral to the Endo, I have to wonder what all she said, and what

kind of problem this might cause for me later.

Dr's love to write things in your chart. That one certainly did with me. She

was livid on the armour info. In the meantime, when I'm getting checked about

my medical background for new insurance, I have to wonder how much info they

really divulge to the new company I'm going to be going with. I've openly

admitted that I do this to that dr so I have to wonder if this won't affect the

way the new insurance company views me as a health risk more so than I am. i

never thought about it until recently, but I have to wonder. The more of a risk

the insurance considers us, the more it costs in premiums. One dr instead of

really checking into my thyroid labeled me as COPD, which is serious (meaning

I'll be one of the costly insured). Means my next insurance company once they

find out about this 'detection in my health, is going to charge me more because

I'm more prone to get sick' than other people. It wasn't COPD, and no tests to

prove it, but a dr said it, it must be true concerns me. But my insurance

premiums sure went up. I have to consider the possibilities on this one.

Now I'm curious about your next dr. What club do you have to join to be able to

get an appt with him?

I think it's her ferritin that's giving her the problem, IMHO, plus the T3

is a little low here.

Yes, the ferritin is a bit low and her 4 and 3 are a bit low, but that is

better than she was according to the tests

My numbers were looking a little better on 125 Synthroid then it did

on 137 Syn. Shouldn't I be concerned that my tsh went from 1.1 to 2.8

with an increase in Syn? I keep hearing about how t3 should be higher

in this group and when I express concerns about it not being high

enough you ask me what my problem is? My biggest problem is that even

though my tsh did go up to almost out of the new normal of 3 and my t3

isn't near high enough for me to function properly the doc puts me on

an equal amount of armour to the syn that I was put on nearly 2 months

ago. Sorry if I sound a little testy but I feel I have concerns

enough to be upset at my doc. Considering that from what I have

experienced from her before she doesn't act like she will be

increasing any of my doses. Not to mention the ferritin problem that

my doc feels is completly fine.
