Guest guest
I got mine last time on Ebay.. Nature's Bounty is the brand name, but I doubt it is the brand, just whether you need it or not. I did not break out form it at all for the first four years, but now I am, so I may have to discontinue using it soon, or find a smaller dosage. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
What dose did you try? I've read that one should take 1-5. I can only find dose 5. > > , > What brand or kind of DHEA do you use? I tried DHEA, and my skin > broke out so badly that I had to stop. Guest guest
You might try 7-Keto-DHEA, which is a metabolite of DHEA and may be less problem causing and this is why some companies sell it. The other thing to consider is that DHEA must be in balance with cortisol. So, if you have adrenal fatigue, taking DHEA may be throwing things off and that is why it is giving problems for you. You may also need much less than 12 mg a day. According to Dr. Bowenstein in his book " Hormonal Health " most people only need 3 to 5 mg a day to get blood levels up to youthful levels and the doses in pills today are vastly too high. I tend to agree. I took 15mg for a year and then had a blood test and was shocked to see that my blood levels of DHEA were double the highest number in the normal range and that my estradiol had shot way up. DHEA excess is very commonly converted to estradiol in women. In hypothyroidism, estrogen is often high, and this axacerbates hypothyroidism. So, too much DHEA could be adversely affecting hormone balance. I take 1 15mg DHEA pill a week. This gives me about 2 mg a day. My DHEA is only just below the midline of the range. My advice is to drop your dose to 5mg a day and see how that works. If you still have problems, then try 7-keto-DHEA. http://www.lef.org/newshop/items/item00658.html? source=Google & key=7_keto_dhea & WT.srch=1 Tish
