Guest guest
Hi! I was just noticing on some Yogourmet starter I had from before when I was on SCD, that it includes sucrose in the ingredients. Is this legal? If so, please explain. Would it work to use with goat's milk? I am thinking of starting the goat yogurt soon. Guest guest
Yes, the Yogourmet starter is OK despite the sucrose. But make sure it's the one that only has three bacterial strains..... L. Bulgaricus, S. Thermophilus and L. Acidophilus. Yogourmet makes more than one starter... but this is the only legal one. Yes, it will work for goat milk.... but it does have a trace of cow milk in it. See that on the label, too? It says " powdered skim milk " . The yogurt will turn out fine, but will have just a tiny trace of cow in it. If your child is ultra sensitive to cow milk, you'd want to avoid it. Patti Yogourmet Yogurt Starter Hi!
