Guest guest
I am glad as well. Abby's Metabolic panel showed low Iron also but our DAN doctor did not mention doing anything about it. Probably because she was deficient in so many other things. I am wondering if this is common in our ASD kids? She has an appt. tomorrow so will ask about it. Guest guest
Best thing isn't necessarily just to increase iron rich foods like green leafy veggies and meat (especially organ meats) but most importantly they must be eaten with a vitamin C enrich food to increase the absorption. Do include some iron rich foods like liver and soinach when possible. Carol F. Guest guest
So, how do you get a 5-year-old self-imposed vegetarian (who does eat eggs) to eat liver? Even when I boil ground chicken and sneak tiny bits into waffles he can detect it! He won't even eat delicious nutflour-encrusted chicken nuggets. My next question is: What is the best way to disguise spinach? I know it has a strong taste/smell, but can it be smuggled into any baked goods? (He won't eat meatloaf.) TIA, Debbie mother to Jake (2/5/99; ASD; GFCF and corn- and soy-free since 9/22/02; SCD since 4/24/04) and Rudy (2/5/99; NT; probably wouldn't eat liver either)

There was also green bean, garlic, onion and meat and it hid the strong spinach flavor. Guest guest
Thanks, Kathy. Unfortunately, he doesn't eat any sauce, chili, or other meats. D >>> jhud2@... 06/30/04 8:05 PM >>>
