Guest guest
Hi Deborah. I feel like this all the time. I want it only because it's there. I am working on resisting the food when I'm not hungry.~Raina~Sent via BlackBerry by AT&TFrom: "Deborah Brent" Date: Sat, 11 Jul 2009 08:55:39 -0400To: <IntuitiveEating_Support >Subject: I'M PROUD OF MYSELF I’m having a large group over today. Of course there will be food. I bought goodies for today. I was so tempted to get into them last night, not because I was hungry, but because they were there. I resisted. And, feel really good about myself. I know I can have some today when I’m hungry. Have any of you ever felt like you had to eat a food just because it was in the house? Guest guest
I think it is a positive that you can feel good about your new ways of eating. That is very important. I wonder if you could think in terms of 'Oh goodie, I get to eat whatever I want, when I'm hungry for it!' instead of 'I feel virtuous because I resisted.' Its interesting how the same actions can be perceived differently depending on how one thinks of them. I know that I too much associate resistance with dieting, while reminding myself that what I eat is my choice and determined by my body, not some external judgment factors helps me much more. Keep trying new things and embracing each baby step of change as you start your IE journey. Best to you, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > Hi Deborah. I feel like this all the time. Guest guest
Yay for you. Of course, I relate to what you mean about feeling like you HAD to eat it because it's in the house. Isn't that so anti-intuitive? It's like someone else is making you do something you don't want to do. Crazy, right? It really seems to be if you think about it. The more experience I get with legalizing, the less I care about what's in the house, on a menu, etc., because I am only going to eat what I FEEL like eating anyway, not what " someone else " tells me I have to. ;-) (Of course, That's on a good day. lol) Warrior > > I'm having a large group over today.
