Guest guest
Folks - Strange question I know - but does ACM have any effect/affect on the sex drive - like completely take it away? When there are those times that you feel somewhat human (no headaches, no bodyaches, and there is some feeling besides pins and needles) - Literally, (and I don't mean to be explicit, but...)my husband has to be a saint - because b/w the surgery and how crappy I feel all the time - we just don't ... Does it get better? Did anyone else have a waning in drive? Mine started over 5years before onset of 'true' symptoms...
Guest guest
, I can tell you from a Male perspective or at least this Male's perspective Chiari definitely has a negative impact on sexuality. I do not know if it is something related to the pressure on the brain stem or if it is just a side effect of chronic pain and fatigue but my sex drive suffered. Obviously when we are in pain it is the last thing on our minds but even when I felt well I found My libido suffered. Men have the added complication that a common symptom of Chiari is ED. That definitely took the wind out of my sails! I had the decompression surgery Dec 28, a couple of weeks later my wife and I separated and a little more than a month post op I found myself in the middle of a divorce. Unfortunately I cannot really speak to the question of if this problem gets better after the surgery because I have not had the pleasure of trying it out since then. Guest guest
ACM had a definite impact on my sex drive. Another thing to consider is the medication, many of them out there have an effect on the sex drive one way or another. Fortunately, after my 4th and hopefully last surgery it has started to come back, with some of the normal symptoms diminishing. Take care everyone, Jerry in Kansas Chiari and sex drive?
