Jenifer,

Welcome to our list! (a little late, I know)

I was wondering, why did you wean at 3 months and what is motivating

you to nurse #2 longer?

Also, let us know if there are any specific questions or issues you

need addressed.

We love to talk about breastfeeding!!

Welcome to the list, . :) We like to breastfeed, and we'll tell

ya damn near anything you wanna know about it. :D

I'm , 30-year-old mom to (21 Nov 92), (14 Sep 95)

and (31 Dec 97). was breastfed for a few weeks

(somewhere between 6-8) when he became nipple confused, had a nursing

strike, and switched to formula completely from then on.

breastfed at least once a day up until her 22nd month when I was

pregnant with . She's nursed maybe once every week or two since

then, but has forgotten how for the most part -- to her it's still just

a hug with a bonus. :D is my hellion... he's 18 months old now

and is nursing several times each day, and nights, too. Since he's my

last, I hope he isn't interested in parting ways with me too soon!! :)

Have you found a La Leche League group near you? You might get to meet

lots of moms there who share similar parenting ideas with you, actually

observe mothers nursing, ask every single question you can come up with

between now and your baby's birth. Check out their web page,

lalecheleague.org and look for the link for Group listings.

By the way, your due date is my 10th anniversary... but as far as due

dates go, you might make life easier on yourself if you called it " the

first part of February, " in case you go a little longer than planned...

it makes the last few days a bit more tolerable!! :D

My Dr put me on prenatal vitiames when I told him I was TRYING to get

pregnant.

Do you plan to continue to nurse the first 2 when your new baby gets here??

That would be intresting to see how it worked out. I hope all goes well just

remember to eat extra calories you need more for the baby and more for EACH

baby you nurse so you'll need a bunch. Ask your Dr excatly how many cause you

don't wanna have TOOOO many else you would just get real fat :)

I assume your other 2 are nursing occasionally and not receiving their main

nutrition from you, so just make sure you take in a bit extra in the way of

foods and calories and you'll be fine!

Actually, technically you don't NEED them at all. The main reason for taking

prenatal vitamins is for the folic acid, which is needed before the baby is

concieved, and durring the first 3 months of gestation, after that, it's

just to suppliment your eating. I took mine for the first 3 mos and my dr

said I didn't have to take them after that cause I was eating well!

I have to disagree on the fact that you don't need prenatals. Just think

how important folic acid is during those first couple of months when the

spine is forming. I am witness to this first hand as I lost a baby that

was 21 hours old due to a spinal cord defect.

thank you. I haven't had any problems yet but I was afraid that when the BABY

started to

really take from my body that there would be a problem. Do you know of any who

had nursed

two while prego? The doctor put me right on prenatals instead of waiting until

3months

prego because of nursing.

Thank you .

My friend on another list nursed her twins through her last pregnancy. Right

now she is nursing all three and none of them eat much solid food. (The

babies, not the mom 80)
