Guest guest
Dear Paige, There is a member that lives in Louisiana named Janie. She has had surgery, 2 years ago. Perhaps she could help you by recommending someone. I will post her today and ask her to email you. Good luck in your search, hope you are feeling well today. This group is great for info and support. I don't know what I would have done without them during my search for a nsg and deciding whether or not to have surgery. from RI On Wed, 28 Nov 2001 10:57:25 -0800 (PST) Paige writes: > Hi Everyone, > > I am new, real new. Guest guest
I did ski before surgery and I beleive my nsg allows you to ski about 18 months after surgery ...that is decomppression and removal of the odontoid. Alba in Dallas (unknown) Hi Everyone, Just a quick question. Our family enjoys skiing together. My surgeon said it's okay as long as I wear a helmut. Do any of you ski and if so how long did you wait after your surgery? I'm not so worried about falling it's those who don't ski in control that concern me. God bless,Terry __________________________________________________

Guest guest
They do use the HALO for other procedures I am 100% posotive about that, fusions are done for other reasons than Odontoid. God BLEss Dahli dAwn

I had to have a craniocervical fusion done because of cranial settling. I am fused from the skull to C4. I had no idea what a halo looked like prior to surgery, and woke up saying what the heck is this! Well, maybe not those exact words, at least that is what my husband told me. Here is a link to my web site that shows me in a halo. There are also pictures of the surgery, and the more pictures are of me showing more of the halo vest. Guest guest
Not dumb at all .....a halo is a device that immobilizes your neck, it is screwed in the skull and attached to a nice plastic vest...it is used when fusion is done. This is not required for a straight Chiari surgery ....only a small group of weird people gets to wear one.... Right ladies????? I wore one this year! So has , Kathleen, Suzzane and currently Karyn and ........Tina also had one during surgery, right? Alba in Dallas (unknown) This may sound really dumb but whats a halo? does everybody get one who has chiari or something? Guest guest
The more lubricative the better! Seems kinda early but we all ovulate at different times. Fertile fluid can range from creamy to eggwhity. Should feel slippery and not sticky! Make sense??? Everyone needs to read Taking Charge of Your Fertility!!! Greatest book that gives you knowledge and control of your own body!! Janice Re: (unknown) TO ANYONE.JUST A QUESTION.I JUST HAD AF LAST FRIDAY AND I WAS WONDERING IF I COULD BE OVULATION THIS EARLY.MY CERVIX IS VERY HIGH AND FEELS WET IN THE VAGINA AREA.WELL SORRY FOR THE DIRECT QUESTION BUT I REALLY NEED TO KNOW. Guest guest
Sticky is not the fertile kind of fluid! Your cervical fluid should go through a continuum of sorts. After af starting out as dry or sticky and then changing to a creamy then the lubricative eggwhite, clear or streaked fertile type. Each type as it moves along the continuum becomes more " fishy " friendly. So that by the time ovulation is near you should have eggwhite. I usually start the creamy about a week after af and have that for about 4 days or so then I have 4 good days of eggwhite! Then ovulation occurs. Just right after the thermal shift the fluid then changes back to dry or sticky. Make sense??? Guest guest
Hello Lori, I did not know anything about anything in my younger years. The only thing I " thought " I knew was the you could get pregnant in the middle of the monthly cycle. I had no clue that the middle was different for everyone. LOL I have 4 kiddos and only recently have I learned so much!! I am making it a point to be well educated in this area. I am 40 and only have this one tube 4.5 cm so I am glad I have this info. now as I need all the knowledge I can get! :-) Yes, I did have my reversal on the 27th. I am feeling wonderfully fine!! Back to normal activity! I am only refraining from lifting until after the 6 week mark! Janice Re: (unknown) yes i see what you are saying.so after this it should get more like lotion then eggwhites? sorry i do have 3 kids already but trying to pinpoint the right time to conceive is so hard as before i just got preg.guess now that im 37 it will be harder than it was when i was 30.thanx again.so how u feeling?didnt u have your surgery the 27th also?i have healed pretty well and back to normal.hope you are doing good. lori
Guest guest
Lori, I went to ePregnancy.com and clicked on their " fertility " link and found some interesting information. I also entered the first day of my AF (for a Pregnancy Achievement Planner)and it gave me a three month guide as to when I am fertile, when I should ovulate, when a home pregnancy test may work and if you did conceive an expected due date. I'm not sure how accurate it was, but it was fun to read. Re: (unknown) glad to hear you are feeling well.one tube is all it takes and im sure you will conceive soon.i will 38 in july and feel like a 16yr old asking all these questions.but im trying also to learn everything about conception.dh is only 31 and hoping that will help my chances to conceive.lol joking.i did hear if the the male was younger than the female chances of conceiving a girl are higher than a boy.hope so thats what he wants.he has 2 boys in germany.but i dont care as long as we can have one together.i have 2 boys and 1 girl from a previous marriage.but if i never conceive i feel so much better just knowing that now i do have a chance again to hold my own baby once more,my youngest is 7 and i still treat him as if he were 2,but he loves the attention.lol.keep u in my prayers that one day you will again have a blessing sent to you from above. lori
Guest guest
Be careful with some of these things. As they, as many drs., assume that every cycle is 28 days with a day 14 ovulation. That is very inaccurate. For instance, my cycle alternates between 29 and 31. I ovulate on either day 16 or 18. If I went by the typical day 14 pattern I would miss ovulation every month and think I was infertile!! Janice Re: (unknown) glad to hear you are feeling well.one tube is all it takes and im sure you will conceive soon.i will 38 in july and feel like a 16yr old asking all these questions.but im trying also to learn everything about conception.dh is only 31 and hoping that will help my chances to conceive.lol joking.i did hear if the the male was younger than the female chances of conceiving a girl are higher than a boy.hope so thats what he wants.he has 2 boys in germany.but i dont care as long as we can have one together.i have 2 boys and 1 girl from a previous marriage.but if i never conceive i feel so much better just knowing that now i do have a chance again to hold my own baby once more,my youngest is 7 and i still treat him as if he were 2,but he loves the attention.lol.keep u in my prayers that one day you will again have a blessing sent to you from above. lori
Guest guest
I think, from what I have read that a 26 day cycle is normal. Might have to watch to see how long your luteal phase is. That is the second half of your cycle, after ovulation. If you are not charting, I think it would be the first thing to start doing. It really tells you what is up and if it is normal. I can't recommend Taking Charge of Your Fertility enough! I can't imagine going to such lengths as a reversal and then just letting the rest be by chance. Get educated in this!! Best thing you can do for your fertility is to understand how your body works! Janice Re: (unknown) well i usually have a/f about 6 or 7 days earlier every month.i think my cycle is about 26 days.so since i started the 7th of this month i know i should start about the 1st of april no latter than the 2nd.is this normal?
