Guest guest
When you are having surgery under general anesthesia, and you are intubated, are you breathing on your own, or does a machine do the breathing for you? I know I should know this, but I don't! Thanks, Sheila ACM I 3mm Surgery 12/98 Dr. Weingart
Guest guest
When you are intubated, you are hooked up to a ventilator. General anesthetic temporarily knocks out your respiratory muscles so the breathing has to be done for you.
