Hi Again ~

I put a message out earlier today as I am new to this way of eating and new to

this message board.

Wondering how some of you have been doing with this?

How long with Intuitive Eating?

Have you lost weight?

Do you find it somewhat easy to follow?

Stuff like that.

Thanks for any sharing.

Personally, I've been adding IE/non-dieting into my life since some time in

either the late 1980s (via Geenen Roth's books) and a second, more serious go at

it since March 2007 (via this group)

Yes and no. This is the hardest thing for a newbie to hear - that weight loss is

NOT the 'focus' and/or 'goal' of revamping one's eating patterns/ways. I have

come to be happy with the fact that as one turns to eating for one's own body

hunger (instead of outer directed input - how/what/when), that a body's weight

will adjust to what is right for it.

I am currently about at the same weight that I was when I began my IE journey.

However I have 'gained' so much more in peace with food and calm about my own

body that this is good enough for me at this time. To me IE is for 'life' - a

more relaxed and less food oriented one at that :) :)

Its like the one saying that is simple but not easy?!? I like to equate it to a

feast - so much you want, but you will not be able to eat in all in one big

bite! Nibble this, savor that, say no thanks or maybe later to something else.

Baby steps and taking on one thing at a time will 'get' you there!
