Try foods that encourage self-feeding. It may be that he isn't fond of the

soft foods he's getting, or the feel of the spoon, or that he isn't hungry

enough for solids at that moment.

Dice up some bananas in finger-sized bites and let him try to feed himself.

If he doesn't care for bananas, try an avocado or a baked sweet potato cut

into finger-sized bites.

If you have spent all his life letting him decide when he's hungry and when

he's full, starting solids should follow the same path. If he feeds

himself, there's no doubt that he is still interested and hungry enough to

eat. :)
