Guest guest
" Malic acid is mainly found in apples, peaches, pears, etc. [b3]. Some yeasts and bacteria can metabolize it. Malo-lactic fermentation, due to bacteria, turns malic acid into lactic acid (sensory threshold: 400 p.p.m. [b10]). Lactic acid being less acidic than malic acid, the result will taste less acidic. This phenomenon is used to improve the quality of acidic wines. " http://tinyurl.com/2cz7g low copper, chromium, thyroid minerals like iodine, zinc selenium and manganese can cause low energy i have taken magnesium malate, its ok but a bit laxative and maybe fermenting i'd say. dunno that i am that keen on it except occasionally, it does give an energy boost but suspect it is scd illegal. you would find a hair test useful. the source naturals magnesium chelate i have found best but it has cellulose gum in and that is illegal. magensium helps build digestive enzymes. > Is malic acid, derived from apples, legal? Guest guest
i don't think your mineral supplementation is being very effective, apprently legal things like collodial minerals feed yeast in a similar manner to garden fertiliser. the whole area of legal/illegal with repect to supplements needs reworking or just distancing from scd since the issues are so complex and do not compelety relate to scd. i have a page on mineral supplementation 'minerals i take' in the index of http://mueller_ranges.tripod.com/links/compendium/compendium.html oddly you seem to have cut out the link that gave what seemed a reasonable explanation of malic acid. http://tinyurl.com/2cz7g i think malic acid is an organic acid and this is different form suagrs but still digestable by bacteria. what would be interesting to know is how acceptable the breakdown product of malic acid, 'lactic acid' is to scd. > > > Is malic acid, derived from apples, legal? Guest guest
it really pays to get a hair test to see whats what with mineral supplementation there are likely mineral issues since fermented veges are quite high in yeast i think and problems with yeast are an indication of zinc and other minerals being needed copper sebacate is the only inorganic mineral i have found satisfactory the rest have to be chelates of various sorts i don't think i am that keen on malate > > > > > Is malic acid, derived from apples, legal?
