Martha,

Best as I can tell it is some sort of allergic reaction or chemical

irritation. I would try different sunscreens on just a small patch to see

if it does the same. I am sure you will be able to find one that doesn't

do that.

Hannah does that also...but she doesn't get into her eyes....do you know

what

causes this? should I try another sunscreen?

Martha,

Try another brand.   My oldest DS had a horrible reaction (hives and everything)

with

Coppertone, but Waterbabies doesn't bother him.

From everything I know about sunscreen, this is just phooey. It is a hoax.

Of course, *any* lotion in a child's eyes will be irritating. There have

never been any reports of blindness or any injury caused by the ingredients

unique to sunscreen. There are more opportunities for eye injuries when

shampooing a child's hair than with sunscreen -- even if it's waterproof.

Mustela makes one in a stick form that is safe for babies over 6 months. Its

main ingredient is zinc oxide. I use it on Maddie's face because it doesn't

run or get into her eyes. There also a lot of chemical-free sunscreens

available.

My ped (not that I'm giving her a lot of credit lately LOL) said anything

with titanium dioxide in it would be safe for Davian. Just thought I'd throw

that in there.
