Guest guest
Well the realization is the first step and the first book be read is Intuitive eating by Ms Roth I think it will give you a good start and the best advice I coukd give is take IE one day at a time and don't rush it because it is a slow proceess not a quick fix. It works as long as you give it time. Glad to have you with us. Eva I'm a newbie here and I'm not sure where to start. If there is one book to read at the beginning that gives the most indepth info on starting out with IE - which would that be? I have the book list and I am sure that I will eventually read them all, but I need a starting point.I have been overweight my whole life. A couple of memories that stick in my mind about being overweight are: A photo of my best friend and I standing next to each other after our ballet recital when we were in kindergarten. She is the skinny tall one and I am the short fat one. Another is a conversation between my college roommate and I about a boy I liked. She told me "He will never like you because you're fat." She is no longer my friend and the boy is now my husband. I've been on lots of diets and always regained the weight. While on a diet, I always felt restricted and anxious. I constantly obsessed about food. I have finally figured out that I eat unconsciously and for emotional reasons. But I don't know where to go from here. I want to lose weight in order to be healthier, to be able to hike up a mountain or ride a bike a long distance, to be able to sew myself some great new clothing. Advice?------------------------------------
Guest guest
Nice to meet you, . This had to be the best thing I've read in a long time!!!! What a testimonial to what really matters.I am still reading IE myself and I know it comes highly recommend here. So, far I'm loving it. I've read lots of books on this subject - some others I recommend for someone just wanting to get started and understand the concept is Thin Within by Judy Wardell (Halliday) and The 10 Habits of Naturally Thin People by Jill Podjasek. Glad you are here! Another is a conversation between my college roommate and I about a boy I liked. She told me " He will never like you because you're fat. " She is no longer my friend and the boy is now my husband.
