Guest guest
WelcomeSharon so glad to have you with us. Eva Hello everyone. I'm new to the board and also new to the non-dieting/intuitive eating apprach. I'm an emotional/stress eater and find myself shoveling food in everytime the going gets rough at work or just for no reason at all sometimes. I have about 100 pounds to lose to get to my healthy/goal weight so I know I have a long way to go. Turning 49 last week and realizing that time is slipping away and the older I get the harder it is to get in shape has spurred me on. I'm listening to Tom Nicoli's "Weight Loss Without Diets" hypnosis series. Looking forward to getting to know all of you and learning how to tune in to my hunger and satisfaction signals once again (they were there when I was young, but I lost sight of them along the way). Guest guest
Welcome Sharon to the IE journey! I really do think of this process in that way because there is so much to see and do including traveling up hills of effort to vistas of success as well as down into dark valleys where you wander a bit lost for a while. But never forget that in the 'downs' there is only one way to go - UP and think of this group as your GPS and cell phone connection back towards the path YOU want/need/chose to go. BEST to you, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > Hello everyone. I'm new to the board and also new to the non-dieting/intuitive eating apprach. Guest guest
Thanks, Eva. I've only been here one day and already I'm gleaning words of encouragement and seeing that there may actually be hope out there for me to eventually break this addiciton to food (bad foods at that) and recognize that food is no more than fuel for my earthly body. Glad to be here with you all and looking forward to the journey together. Guest guest
Welcome and wonderful to have you join the group. So much of the behavior that made me 'crazy' and heavier too, that I carried before has been dumped since I've been with this group. For that I am 'lighter' and so much happier too! I can relate to the menopause 'time bomb' - its like being hit with a 'granny' wand by a cackling demented fairy godmother - LOL!! Guess we all do a double taking YIKES! when we look in our mirrors and see our grandmothers!! But when I remember how much I loved these grand gals, what's not to love about being one too?!? Best to you and looking forward to more posts from you as well - Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > I was 8 yo and my mother took me to my first diet doctor. Lost 30 lbs in 2 mos and then passed out in gym class. Gained it back in less time than it took to lose it! And that bagan my dieting life. Most of my adult life I was able to stay at a reasonable weight through strict dieting but since menipause nothing seems to work. It's like my body has had it. Had the best wt loss with Overeaters anonymous but it made me crazier about food than ever and had the best time attending Munter and Hirschmann's non-diet groups in Manhatan. > So now that I am older it is time to finally make peace with food and my old body. So that's why I am here. >
